Mapex invited Periphery drummer and educator Matt Halpern to design a snare drum he'd use night after night. The result was the Mapex Wraith Black Panther. This snare boasts a sharp, dry tone despite its penetrating 1.2mm brass shell, capable of a ghostly whisper to suit Matt's dynamic performances. Matt's 3-hole Periphery vent clusters give the Wraith a unique look and tons of projection. Matt insisted on a brass shell for his Mapex Wraith Black Panther. At 1.2mm thick, the shell moves beyond remarkable sensitivity into explosive power — a must for Matt's brand of dynamic playing.
