Quick and easy intensity
The heart of the Vocal Intensity Processor is its super simple Intensity knob, which essentially is just an input knob for its internal Leveler. This Leveler has a set -24dB threshold and a very low ratio, and cranking up the Intensity level pushes the Leveler harder as you’d expect. Vocal Intensity Processor also has outstanding-sounding onboard filters derived from Harrison’s 32C channel strip filters. You can adjust the edges of the filters by utilizing their respective knobs, and the Bump/Bright buttons add subtle shelf gain boosts to the low and high ends, respectively.
A pair of handy displays
Vocal Intensity Processor also adds simple but effective visual feedback to your workflow. An RTA In button turns the RTA on/off, revealing the pre-/post-filter readings overlayed on top of each other when in use. There’s also a “VU-style” K-12 Output Meter with a -12dB reference level, perfect for podcasts and other forms of spoken media. Finally, for safety and security, Vocal Intensity Processor’s built-in has a fixed threshold of -1.5dB, so your signal never gets too intense!
