Enter a Whole New Dimension of Virtual String Libraries
From Sweetwater favorites Vienna Symphonic Library comes this wonderfully comprehensive string library collection — the Vienna Symphonic Library Studio Dimension Strings Bundle! This extensive bundle contains not only all three of the individual Dimension Strings libraries, but also free downloadable bonus content in sul ponticello (on the bridge) form. Each of the three libraries has been optimized for the Synchron Player, allowing for easy switching from simple to elaborate ensemble configurations — all of which sound simply gorgeous when paired with Synchron Stage Vienna Impulse Responses (IRs). With over 1 million samples and over 230GB of final installed files, it’s safe to say that you won’t run out of new sonic vistas to explore with the Dimension Strings Bundle!

Studio Dimensions Strings I
Those in need of a comprehensive orchestral string library should seriously consider VSL’s Studio Dimension Strings I. Comprised of five flexible string sections that have been optimized for the Vienna Synchron Player, Dimension Strings I features access to each individual musician from each ensemble thanks to Synchron Stage impulse responses (IR). This enables you to shape stage placement and reverb, which, coupled with new improvements to dynamics and articulations, results in authentic string ensemble sounds. Plus, real-time humanized presets offer accurate performances that impressed many of our Sweetwater composers. VSL Studio Dimension Strings I also sounds great right out of the box, especially when used in conjunction with other Synchron and Studio libraries. Finally, Dimension Strings I can be used with Komplete Kontrol Keyboards and Maschine thanks to support for Native Instruments’ NKS format.
Studio Dimensions Strings II
The Studio Dimension Strings II library from Vienna Symphonic Library features five string sections that were recorded con sordino, with mutes that darkened the sound of each instrument by reducing the amount of energy transmission from the strings to the instrument bodies. Our Sweetwater composers think that the softened timbres of these muted strings make Studio Dimension Strings II perfect for anyone looking for emotional, intimate string arrangements. Thanks to Synchron Stage impulse responses (IR), you’ll have access to placement and ambience for each individual musician as well as real-time humanized presets, combining for incredibly compelling performances. VSL Studio Dimension Strings II also sounds superb right away, especially when blended with other Synchron and Studio libraries. Finally, Dimension Strings II can be used with Komplete Kontrol Keyboards and Maschine thanks to support for Native Instruments’ NKS format.
Studio Dimensions Strings III
Like the other libraries in the Dimension Strings Bundle, Dimension Strings III features Synchron Stage IRs, plus support for Komplete Kontrol, Maschine, and five ensembles. For this collection, however, the instruments are being played sul tasto – near the fingerboard. This special technique results in an ethereal timbre full of odd-order harmonics that Sweetwater composers feel perfectly crafts ambient soundscapes for fantasy works, and even eerily builds up tension for horror films. Its wealth of articulations — détaché, sforzato, portamento, and more — also creates ample opportunity for imaginative moments. Use Dimension Strings III in conjunction with its sibling libraries, and you’ve got what is quite possibly the most comprehensive string library currently available.
Included Synchron Player
Studio Dimension Strings Bundle includes VSL's dedicated Synchron Player. Driven by a powerful new audio engine, the Synchron Player delivers flawless streaming performance and a new level of advanced simplicity. Just step through the articulations, select a variation, and audition how the pre-configured controllers (Density, Bow Style, and Velocity Crossfade) affect the loaded preset. The Synchron Player also incorporates an internal mixer with 5-band equalization, individual delay settings for runtime compensation, algorithmic reverb, polarity switching, and panorama controls, as well as a specially designed convolution reverb derived from Vienna MIR Pro that features the world-class ambience of Synchron Stage Vienna's 5,813-square-foot main hall.
About Synchron Stage Vienna
Synchron Stage Vienna, located on Vienna's historic Wiener Rosenhuegel, can accommodate a 130 piece orchestra and has proven its mettle over the decades not only for film score recording, but also for sampling sessions. With its massive concrete foundation, room-in-room construction, sound insulation, and specially designed HVAC system, the studio boasts an ultra-low noise floor of 16dBA, even with the air conditioning running. Stage A sports a reverb time of 1.8 seconds — and unlike many other scoring stages, there is no low-frequency masking effect. Instruments sound warm and punchy, with superior depth and panoramic localization.
