Massive Midi flexibility for next to nothing
Of all the Midi accessories I've used over last 30 years, this one has been the most impressive in the cost to benefit ratio.

The extensive midi capability this provides is astounding, and the CME folks keep adding more. It handles Midi routing, filtering, and mapping quite well. The configuration can all be saved on the device itself, so I can connect it to my PC, set everything up, save the config, then use it with my Android tablet for my portable, on the go, set up.

I plan to use this to add extra routing options and an additional 5-pin Din Midi I/O pair to the recently announced USB Midi Host and Din Midi device from CME, the H4Widi WC.

I probably sound like a CME fan boy, and well. I guess I am.

False promises
I bought this to use with a midi controller that is not class compliant. That controller works fine when I go DIN Midi out to my hardware synth, and yet when I connect it to a MacBook Pro M1, it is not recognized successfully. The MIDI controller has its own power supply, so that doesn't seem to be a cause.

I contacted CME support and they told me to install drivers for the midi controller. Issue is, there are no current drivers for my controller, which is WHY I bought this device in the first place.

I also tried this from an iPad Mini 5 on latest iOS, and it also did not recognize the controller.

What's the point of a DIN midi to USB adapter if it still requires controller drivers???
