Aguilar Tone Hammer 500

This little amp is incredible....light and powerful.....Soundmen say balanced output is the best they have heard.....and it's made in America

Big punch, small package!

Great amp. Made with care in the USA. Many tonal possibilities. More power than you can imagine. It's true that "good things come in small packages".

So much more than you could imagine.

First off, I own a 750DB. It is the best amp on the planet. Period. It was hard to even entertain the idea of getting something else. I wanted to get something lighter and more versatile, not to mention less valuable to take anywhere and on tour. I play through a Mesa Powerhouse 1000 (410, 115).Not only is the Tonehammer lighter and more versatile than the 750DB, I have a blast playing through it. The Drive and Gain knobs can make the thickest gnarl that I have ever heard (without the use of a pedal). Oh, and it is ridiculously loud. Ridiculous. I have never turned off the -10dB dampener switch. No need. I had doubts about this purchase. For years, I wasn't sure if this was what I wanted. I am very happy dude. Thanks, Aguilar!

Massive (quality) sound from such a small amp. Fits in my gig bag withroom to spare.I use it to power (2 Aggie) DB 112's...loud, clear, and warm.Guys in the band kept looking at the rig like, "where is all thatsound coming from?" I love it.

Sweetwater Advice

Jared Kalish

I'd never have expected a bass head that weighs less than 5 lbs to have any sort of substance of tone, but this little guy delivers a full bodied, robust palette for all styles of music. Along with the standard controls, the Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 has added features such as effects loop, tuner out, and a fantastic DI that gives me exactly what I need - and nothing I don't!

Andrew Teeple

As a professional bassist and self-admitted Tone Snob, I'm constantly switching out basses, FX pedals, and even pickups. Over the last several years, the one stalwart of my live rig has been the ToneHammer 500. It gives me the tonal versatility I require as a modern bassist. No matter if I'm playing outdoor festival shows with my modern Country band and a 5-string, or at the jazz club with my upright, the ToneHammer delivers!
