Precise Coil Control for PRS Electronics

The DPDT Mini-toggle Switch by PRS is your convenient 1:1 replacement for selector mini-toggles that are worn down or damaged. PRS recommends this switch for the following four guitars: Custom 24-08 (Core and S2), Special Semi-Hollow, Paul’s Guitar, and the Modern Eagle V. Switches with resistance ratings of either 1.1k ohms or 2.2k ohms can be found here at Sweetwater, where our techs and customers have had luck using PRS switches with custom builds involving pickup coils designed for splitting.

Rich Coil Splitting Tones
I recently upgraded my PRS SE Hollowbody Standard Piezo with custom order Slash 2.0 pickups and installed these PRS resistance mini toggles for coil splitting.

Coil splits are often a mix of shrill and thin while still being overly muted. However, resistance coil splitting allows a small amount of power through the dead slug. This accomplishes two things.

First, it cancels any potential for hum.

Second, it makes the sound rounder and richer.

I got the idea for adding these from my PRS SE Paul's Guitar, which comes from the factory with a set of the mini toggles and had the best sounding coil splits I had heard. I figured PRS had figured out the magic sauce, so I would just add these to my favorite guitar.

They work beautifully. I'm extremely pleased with these PRS resistance mini toggles.
