Impressive Orchestra Acoustic for a Steal
With its delightful tonewood combination, onboard electronics, and universally comfortable appeal, the D’Angelico Premier Tammany XT Orchestra from Sweetwater affords all guitarists classic orchestral-bodied acoustic playability. Structured for success, this 6-string is built upon a body of sapele with a spruce top, pairing the richness and sustain of a hardwood with bright and balanced tonal articulation. Speaking of sustain, a well-resonating mahogany neck topped with 20 frets of smooth rosewood keeps the Premier Tammany XT Orchestra’s tone enviable and its response energetic. Premium appointments like a real bone nut, tortoise stairstep pickguard, Vintage Deluxe tuning machines by Grover, and a finish available only at Sweetwater push this affordable acoustic-electric into superior territory. Engineered with onboard Fishman Sonitone electronics, the Premier Tammany XT Orchestra remains at the ready to present any piece with determination — acoustically or amplified!

Ideal tonewood balance
Sapele, acting similarly to mahogany and other hardwoods, creates an absolutely perfect foundational element to the acoustic tone of the Premier Tammany XT Orchestra. Laden with richness and plenty of low-end presence, the back and sides of this guitar offer an equally well-sustaining sound for notes and chords coated in overtones. To help bring a balance of musical complexity to the table, the solid spruce top, with its underside X-bracing, introduces a lovely top-end clarity with exceptional projection. The final puzzle pieces are a well-sustaining mahogany neck and a lively 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. The resulting tone is remarkably balanced.
Electrifying Fishman Sonitone preamp
The acoustic sound of this 6-string is phenomenal, but its plugged-in tone is equally stunning. A premium Fishman Sonitone preamp system captures every playing nuance and acoustic subtlety in exquisite detail, perfectly preserving your guitar’s natural tone and translating it to larger audiences in larger spaces. To boot, you’ve also got access to both tone and volume controls for a bit more freedom in terms of finding that perfect sonic presentation. Fishman electronics are revered by guitarists worldwide, including many here at Sweetwater, and the Sonitone preamp system is a match made in heaven for your Premier Tammany XT Orchestra.
A comfortable, well-equipped instrument
Being orchestra-bodied, the Premier Tammany XT Orchestra presents a smaller and more easily held bulk while maintaining a more standard neck scale length to achieve the best of both worlds in terms of convenience. The “C”-shaped neck profile fits comfortably in the hands of almost every guitarist, rendering it the perfect companion for all stages of playing — from beginning lessons to rehearsals and auditorium recitals. Donning a real bone nut and well-dressed Grover Vintage Deluxe tuning machines, you’ve got natural string response and steadfast intonation on your side every time you play. Charming details, including extensive binding, diamond inlays, elegant headstock design, and nickel/cream tuning buttons, round out this acoustic-electric with some top-shelf curb appeal.
