Reviews

eminence wizard
this is exactly what I was listening for...a "hi-fi" type sound. super clear- clean and distorted, just couldn't be happier! gets subjective really fast, describing sound quality but all the reviews and comments were spot on! guess I'm an Eminence fanboy now...haha. thanks again Sweetwater!!

Best in Class
I've used Wizards in the past. Because of their efficiency, they sound louder than other speakers in the same cabinet. I have a 1x12 cabinet that I want to use as a speaker for my pedalboard amp, and as an external speaker for my Boss Nextone. The 8-ohm version just sings. I had 16-ohm Wizards in my Peavey Valve King. They are a bit brash, but if you play rock or blues, they are hard to beat. It's got a bit more lower midrange thump than say a Celestion Vintage 30. This is the sound I had in my head when I bought it. I am completely satisfied!

Happy As A Clam
While it's still in it's break in mode even now after only 10-12 hours the speaker is opening up nicely and sounding great. The Wizard replaced a Celestion V30 I've had in a 1x12 cab for about 5-6 years. The cab is paired with an Egnater Tweaker head and I wanted to try an Eminence version of the Celestion G12H-30 Egnater originally used in their 1x12 Tweaker cab and combo. They felt it was the most ideal speaker for this amp.

I'm a big believer in finding the best amp/speaker pairing I can and also a fan of Eminence Speakers. Even this early in the game I have to agree. A G12H type speaker is ideal for this amp. I typically use the AC/VOX amp setting with my Teles and Strat and it's helped take some of the extended top end of a V30 off and gives me a more balanced tonality across the board I'm really enjoying. It's a bit bluesier overall.

With my P90s I'll used the US/Fender amp setting and the higher output helps bring out some of the grittier flavor the Wizard has as well. I don't play humbuckers but I'm certain the Brit/Marshall mode would work quite well with them and with this speaker too. Overall I'm very pleased with my decision and also pleased with the service I've gotten from Sweetwater and my rep Ian. Both are top shelf in my book.

really nice
Speaker choice is totally subjective. Eminence is a great value.I built a monster of a cabinet with a Cannabis Rex and a Wizard with the jacks in the front 3 in total. It was 83.00 for everything, black carpet 6.00$ a yard 2x4, 3/4 mdx, screws, Gorilla Glue, wire, amp jacks, jack plate. Weight was not an issue for this finished product. i did'n t dovetail the corners since this is not a drawer. I am a master wood craftsman and say what you will for this application 2x4 was the ticket. The Porter Cable dovetailing jigg only holds 12 inch boards and is held with glue only. It is funny how a 2x12 cabinet could run over 700.00 wow ? Why ? ok i forgot to mention 10,000.00 in tools, and a work shop
Music background: fun fun fun
It handles a lot of genres well
I researched the eminence "Red Coat " series for about a 8 months until i eventually settled on either the Wizard or CV-75.
Eventually going with this Wizard model. So far seems the right choice since its marketed as a 60s-70s style and delivers.
Using the Wizard to replace Peavey Sheffield stock speakers from a Transtube Special 212 think big brother to the red stipe bandit just in a 212 format. The clean channel is pristine and smooth and the high gain and ultra no longer have the fizzy top end that the OEM speakers did. Being USA made too is a big plus. So if you want to do clean 60-80s tones and or OG thrash metal to 90s grunge this pretty much get you there!
