Meticulous vintage accuracy graces this guitar

For the American Vintage '52 Telecaster, Fender tracked down several of the original '52s and exhaustively analyzed them to ensure a painstaking level of vintage accuracy. Every facet of the original instruments - including minute details such as curves, perimeters, radii and more - was examined, measured, evaluated, and ultimately incorporated into the American Vintage '52 Tele. What you see in this remarkable guitar is more than the sum of its parts. It's a highly playable, eminently musical-sounding re-creation of an iconic instrument that changed music forever.

Beauty, tone, and playability

With Fender's American Vintage '52 Telecaster, there's genius in the details. This remarkable guitar's beauty, tone, and playability are no accident. It starts with the classic ash body, the simple single-ply black pickguard and a thin Fender Flash Coat nitrocellulose lacquer finish in classic Butterscotch Blonde. Then, there's the fat U-profile maple neck with rolled fingerboard edges and 21 vintage style frets, a sculpted headstock volute for enhanced first-position comfort, and vintage tuner spacing for true "straight string pull" over a bone nut. Of course, you also get a vintage-style bridge with three brass saddles, and knurled chrome dome Tele control knobs. If you're a fan of early Teles the Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster is one drool-worthy axe.

The magic of Fender's American Vintage series

Since its introduction in the early 1980s, Fender's American Vintage series has been the go-to source for the last word in original-era model year guitars. With today's American Vintage guitars, Fender has gone back to the drawing board with new features, new specs and the most fanatical level of vintage accuracy yet. They've restored original tooling dies, voiced new pickups, reformulated vintage colors, and more - based on actual vintage guitars. From its flawless vintage looks, to its impeccable tone and playing feel, there's pure magic in the Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster!

Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Fabulously chunky U-profile maple neck

Country Twang at it's best

I have played a Telecaster ever since I began playing when I was in my teens. I'm now in my early 40's and this is the best Tele I've ever owned by far. I plug straight into my Deluxe Reverb and that's it. It doesn't need anything else it sounds great and plays great out the box. It does sound well with pedals but they are not needed. I get better tones with just my guitar and amp than my buddies with quite a bit of money in their pedal boards. If you want a Telecaster for what they are this is it. Many Thanks to Stephen Chamoun for hooking me up.

King of Telecasters

Not only is this a bona-fide telecaster, this is one of the best guitars I've ever played. This guitar handles blues, rock, country, folk like an old ball glove. The tone through my fender blues jr NOS... to die for. Wow. Pair this guitar with a tube amp and take it for a drive. If the amp is wrapped in tweed, even better. The neck is thicker and the fretboard is narrower than modern guitars. I like it feels vs other modern guitars with wider fretboards and thinner necks. I have big palms, it works out well for me. Plus it feels like you're playing maple neck worth $2,000. I've always had nitro finishes on my Gibson guitars and wished my Fenders did too. Finally I have that with this guitar and boy is it beautiful (and it smells nice, too!). Jonathan Appleton is a great sales engineer and I whole-heartedly recommend him. Fast, friendly, and worked with me on the phone and via email. I'm so glad I took a plunge and picked up this guitar. Fender did a great job with the AVRI line.

This is no toy

After having put in many, many hours with this guitar already I can say that I love this guitar. The feel of the neck is perfect for me. Really is chunky and substantial. Plus the lack of glossy finish, really adds to the vintage feel and comfort. The sound is just like you would expect from a guitar replicating the tone of a 52 Telecaster. It does that well. I have other guitars and have played many more. This guitar feels like a professional instrument. Others compared to it feel like something you would keep at home for practice.

My new 52 Telecaster

Yup - another great guitar ! Great action - great sound - played it right out of the case - love it ! Came all setup and ready to go! Thanks to Paul Rowan for contacting me that it was available and for getting it to me ... and the wife says thanks for the Bit-o-Honey ! I recommend this guitar to anyone that loves a good playing guitar !

Loving this!!

I played a bunch of different teles in my quest for the perfect one. This hands down was the top of the pack for me. Love the beefy neck, downside my other guitars seem like toys now :). Sounds fantasic with every amp I tried. If in the market for a tele, make sure you try one of these as they really are different from the deluxe and elite. The bridge is a little weird (however as I understand period correct) and I have had the B string slide on it and land against the screw (over time) and it makes a metalic buzz. I just push the string off the screw, tune, and its back in business. Thanks to my sales engineer Tim H, he did a great again!! Thanks Tim!!
