This Travel-sized Bass Packs Plenty of Thump

The Traveler Guitar TB-4P travel bass is your ticket to big bass tone on the go. At less than seven pounds in weight and just over 35 inches long, the TB-4P travel bass is compact enough to fit in a standard airline overhead compartment. The TB-4P doesn't sacrifice a bit of tone though - the alder body and maple neck provide an articulate tone that rivals the sound of full sized basses. You'll be amazed at how natural it feels to play the 32" scale length maple neck, and the double-cutaway design makes for comfortable fretboard maneuvering. And when you're ready to plug the TB-4P travel bass into your favorite amp, the P-51 split coil pickup will have everyone believe they're listening to a full-sized bass. If you want big bass tone at a small price that is easy to take with you anywhere, check out the Traveler Guitar TB-4P travel bass!

Best Purchase Ever Made

This has been by far the best bass purchase I've ever made. After researching "travel" basses out the yingyang (Ibanez, Shredneck, Hofner, Ubass, Squier, etc.) I am so happy I purchased Traveler, and the TB-4. It's got everything I need, full size frets, compact size, headphone amp, etc. It's a bass, not a toy and not a kid's guitar (I bought an Ibanez Mikro, thinking it would be small enough to take around, but it's not and I didn't care for the medium frets. Don't get me wrong, it's a great guitar, but not for me and not for traveling, so now it's my son's.). I take my Traveler everywhere I go; it allows me to practice anywhere and all I need is a pair of headphones. If you're looking for a travel or practice bass, do yourself a favor and get this one.

Good Things come in Small Packages

Wow !!! This is one sweet looking, sweet playing Bass. I have the Traveler ultra-light electric acoustic and the Traveler Speeedster (in red - of course ;-) but was really wondering how the approach would work with a Bass. Simple Answer ..... Awesomely ;-) .... and yes ! it does fit in Airline Overhead Storage ..... even on the little "puddle jumpers: they run from Seattle to Kelowna :-)The folk at Sweetwater were great. My order was a bit "challenging" at times (I was transiting through North America and picking my bass up on tour - so timing was critical :-) ). Pre-sales setup was spot on and packaging was very good ! This is my second Sweetwater guitar (the aforementioned Traveler Ultra-light) and both have been perfect !Thanks again Kurt for the patience and excellent service. You certainly brought a smile to my face when I got my hands on this little baby !

Impressed

As usual Sweetwater and Devin provided good price, speedy delivery and excellent communications. This bass is more than I expected as far as design, tone and portability. The only adjustment I made was to lower the string height at the bridge. The intonation, tone and workmanship are good for a bass at this price. I usually change the strings on a new bass but the stock string sound good for now. I haven't played a Fender in a while, but this bass sounds like a p-bass I had many years ago.

P Bass sound in a portable package

I needed a P-Bass to round out my collection, but also needed a travel bass to take on trips or practice during lunch in the office. This bass easily fits the bill for both! Although it's a 32 inch scale bass, I can't really tell a difference in feel from the 34 or 35 inch scale basses, they did a great job of keeping the form factor familiar. The pickups are passive, but the headphone pre-amp is active. It's great to be able to toss on some headphones, plug in backing tracks and get that familiar P-bass sound.

Big P-Bass sound in a small package

I wanted a travel bass that I could take to the office and practice during lunch as well as on business trips. I was hoping to get something that could mimic the classic p-bass sound. When you plug it into an amplifier, it does a decent sound of getting that sound we all know and love. The reason that it doesn't get 5 stars is because the sound doesn't translate when you plug in the headphones. It's a little more thin. It does, however provide a distinct sound so when you play along with mp3's through the aux jack, you get a distinct and easy to pick out voice on the instrument. All in all, I like it! It's great for practice, recording, and all around having fun. Highly recommended!
