The Ultimate Compendium of Symphonic Strings
Recorded in the same studio (London's Air Studios Lyndhurst Hall), with the same musicians, and using the same methods as legendary blockbuster movie scores, Spitfire Audio Symphonic Strings is your definitive symphonic strings library. For epic cinematic scoring, you have to go big and bold, and this encyclopedic collection is massive in every way. Sixty first-call musicians — 16 first violins, 14 second violins, 12 violas, 10 cellos, and eight basses — were recorded with multiple round robins, dynamic layers, and three microphone positions you can deploy to taste. Recorded as ensembles and individual sections, you'll find that Spitfire Audio Symphonic Strings works brilliantly right out of the box, but also provides a comprehensive palette of articulations that let you customize your scores to perfection.
Designed to accommodate your creative workflow
To capture the ultimate compendium of symphonic strings, Spitfire Audio pulled out all the stops. From flawless classic vibrato to flautando and super sul tasto articulations, to proprietary techniques designed by Spitfire's composers and producers — no stone was left unturned. In all, there are 175 articulations, including 59 shorts, 94 longs, and 45 legatos. Symphonic Strings is recorded as ensembles and individual sections, so you can go right for the custom-curated ensemble tools designed to get you composing fast with broad brush strokes, or be as detailed as you want with each section individually.
Sonic options galore
Spitfire Audio Spitfire Symphonic Strings lets you mix and mute mic positions, giving you a choice of close mics, Decca tree, and ambient. If you're scoring for 5.0, you can route your spots into the center channel, the tree to left and right, and the ambients to the left and right surrounds. Or just mix in stereo. Either way, Spitfire Symphonic Strings sounds great, and you can automate everything.

Spitfire Audio: tools for high-impact cinematic scoring
Spitfire Audio was launched in 2007 by a group of award-winning composers and producers. Their mission: distil into software the essential tools they deploy every day to forge epic cinematic music. Spitfire Audio's recipe for Spitfire Symphonic Strings was simple: Secure the services of top London session players. Book a world-class scoring stage for the sessions: Air Studios Lyndhurst Hall, with their huge mic locker filled with priceless vintage mics and the world's largest Neve 88R console with custom Monserrat preamps.
