Eminence swamp thang

Replaced Celestion G12P-80 watt that was in a fender sc-112 cabinet with this speaker. Found nite and day difference. Both speakers brand new and not broken in. Swamp thing was much warmer sounding and had well defined bass tone. I also own 10" Rajin cajin and 12" cannibus Rex along with fender 12" lightening bolt speakers all made by eminence and can say that as they break in they sound even better. The swamp thang is being driven by fender super champ x2 and I now have tons of clean headroom and can use my sc112 cabinet with almost any amp without fear of blowing this speaker. Have used this speaker for 3 or 4 weeks now and it is just started to break in and is getting warmer tone now but still has well defined highs and very responsive to pick attack. Even the most serious tone freaks will be happy with this and by the way thanks Mike at Sweetwater for your help.

Best Overall Single Cab Speaker Replacement

Although, the speaker have not been fully broken in, I like what I'm hearing so far as it loosen up. Contrary to most reviewers replacing their Fender Blues factory installed speaker, I'm actually replacing the Eminence Red, White and Blue speaker out my boutique Fuchs ported back mini 112 cab. Why? The Eminence Red, White and Blue speaker is a great all around speaker for Jazz, Blues and American Rock. Rated 120 Watts, it can handle a lot of power which is why I'm keeping a pair in my Fuchs 2x12 speaker cab assigned to my 100 Watt Fuchs TDS Amp head. But that's where the Red, White and Blues shines paired with another speaker. Whereas the Eminence Swamp Thang is better suited for single speaker cab application over the Red, White and Blue. The Swamp Thing's output is louder and the bass output is tighter which explains why it's magnet is bigger and heavier. And although the ST is rated at 150 watts compared to RWB 120, the real differences is when you drive the speaker hard and it doesn't flinch while providing tons of clean headroom. The ST acts like it's a 15" speaker with it's power handling ability and sounds like it 's a 10" speaker, very focus and tight. For the Jazz, Blues and Rock lovers I can't imagine a better single cab speaker. My L5 deep melodic tones just jump out of this speaker with authority and definition. Needless to say, I like the Swamp Thing. You just need to be patient breaking ST in, like anything good, it takes time.

U gatta get it!

I waited 3 month and put it through the paces of rehearsals and gigs. I installed it on my solid state Fender Champion 40 which I use for all my gigs and rehearsals and removed my WGS(not a bad speaker) that was on it. I only use the clean channel of this amp and use my Boss OD3 or few of the overdrives of my ME-80. I play in two bands, first band is Alt-Rock/Hard Rock my 2nd Band is into Funk,Jazz Groove Fusion,Gospel. The Eminence Swamp Thang does it all with ease and with great dynamics weather its clean or overdrive distortion. Its frequency friendly, blends well without getting lost in the mix as well as easy to mic. I am now thinking of purchasing another Fender champion 40 and another Eminence Swamp Thang to run my live and rehearsal set up in stereo. Yes! its that good and it sure does give my solid state amp some warmth and clarity at band level or bedroom practice level.Technology these days with amps, speakers, floor pedal processors are getting insanely really good I've been playing 25+yrs and 18 yrs of it is mostly live. I've had too many gears in my years of playing to name, just get the Eminence ST...
