Easy to transport and protect

Sweetwater bassists know how difficult it can be to lug a full bass rig to the show. At only 6.3 lbs., the Mesa Subway D-800+ takes the problems of bulky and heavy bass amplifier rigs out of the equation, allowing you to focus on your performance and tone. The Subway D-800+ is built small enough to fit in the pocket of some bass guitar gig bags. And it comes with its very own gig bag, giving you protection that's custom-built for the Subway D-800+. This ultra-lightweight bass amplifier is the gigging bassist's best friend.

Plenty of juice for any rig or gig

The power section of the Mesa Subway D-800+ bass amplifier can push 800 watts, ensuring you have enough juice for any gig out there. Whether it's driving a 1 x 12" cabinet for a smaller jazz combo or pushing an 8 x 10" cab for a huge sound across a large stage, the D-800+ can cover it without breaking a sweat. And all of that horsepower comes in the form of an exceptionally lightweight Class D power section.

Awesome bass head

This head is the bomb. I can get just about any sound I want out of it. It also has a headphone jack in those times I need to keep things quiet. I just grab the head, move to where I want to play and plug in my headphones. No cab required. Very well built and sturdy. I recommend it to Mesa fans.

Mesa/Boogie Subway D-800+

This is my first Mesa Boogie product, and if I were to purchase another bass amp, it will be another Subway D-800+, period. Of all the great features the D-800+ offers, the variable High Pass Filter (HPF) sold me at the instant I saw it in the ad. When used judiciously, this feature will save, and possibly extend, a speaker's life. Tone is wide spectrum, and the volume is ridiculous. The "Deep" switch is instant "Made in America: Massive". It would be a credit to Mesa/Boogie if rack ears were offered for the Subway series of bass amplifiers. While a beautifully designed and constructed gig bag was included with the purchase, the handling of the Subway D-800+ could be drastically reduced, and its protection increased, if it were mounted in a rack case. The Mesa/Boogie Subway D-800+ has raised the bar and eye brows of many in the Low End. Many thanks to Mark Thompson for making this purchase happen!

mesa 800 Plus

This amp Rocks!! Got the amp and took almost no time to get a great sound. Ran it with 2 2x10 cabs at 2 ohms and it was warm clean and full!! I played a private party the next night with a 2 x10 cab without going into the mains and rocked the place. The controls are perfect and the size and weight at the end of the night is great. Not lifting a 78lb rack was great at the end of the gig. Can not wait to gig more with it, This amp is head and shoulders above all other!!

Subway D-800+

If you like the voice of the D-800, the 800+ adds a number of great features at a modest price increment. And it's still a compact lightweight head, if no longer gig bag pocket size. The deal-makers for me were the sweepable HPF and the semi-parametric mids. I use active JJ basses, fivers, and I try to get a tone that's tight, muscular, and authoritative without being boomy. In some rooms I work, dialing up the bass EQ to put some phat in my tone tends to make the lowest register (on the B string) get too big and boomy. Raising the HPF a bit does a great job on tightening that register while still getting a touch more whomp on the E and A strings. And the semi-para mid EQs are great at fine-tuning the growl to my liking. I was happily gigging the D-800 before the 800+ was released. It took one of my all-time favorite bass amps to the next level.
