GREAT Software !

Easy to use, great sounding and fun ! I use Strum for a bunch of types of music... everything from song forms to "clouds of sound" type "avant garde" electronic music. Works best in a pop song format (which is what it's designed for, I believe). I use MIDI files derived from EZ Keys, slide that into a Pro Tools instrument track and then open Strum as the instrument. Strum follows the MIDI chord changes perfectly with some interesting chord voicing (transposed for a guitar player style, 6 strings and 4 fingers unless you use your thumb). The sounds are glorious, clean acoustics and cool electrics, plus some deep editing if you so desire. The three play modes are available, "Keyboard" plays back what you play but constrains it to the guitar fingerboard. "Guitar" allows both chords and single note play at the same time. "Loop Mode" is MIDI style playback with hundreds of styles (I use this mode mostly) The editing is so deep that you could get lost editing a single guitar sound and picking responses per string ! I highly recommend this software for anyone that has somewhat negligible guitar skills, or that just wants great sounding guitar sounds and parts. (I don't own an acoustic guitar so this works great for me)
