Classic Strat Styling with Dual Humbucking Pickups
When Leo Fender introduced the world to his newest creation, the Stratocaster, nobody could possibly have known it would change the face of contemporary music forever. In the beginning, there was just one Strat configuration with three single coil pickups. Today there's a Strat to match everyone's budget or their playing style. The Standard Strat HH starts with that sleek, unmistakable double cutaway design and then substitutes a pair of hot Tex-Mex humbucking pickups for the three single-coils for a completely different arsenal of sounds. Now that smoky, vintage double humbucker sound is available on a Stratocaster. It's got the hot look and even hotter sound you want! Fender Standard Strat HH Features at a Glance:
- Lightweight alder body with black pickguard and shielded body cavities
- Vintage Style tremolo with high mass bridge block
- Two Tex-Mex Fat Strat humbucking pickups
- Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with modern "C" shape and satin polyester finish
- Includes padded gig bag
Lightweight alder body with black pickguard and shielded body cavities Like most contemporary Strats, the Standard Strat HH features a lightweight, "comfort contoured" alder body which has actually changed very little since the first Strats rolled off the production lines in 1954. However, this new version has shielded body cavities for quieter operation and reduced hum. Even though this guitar comes with two humbucking pickups, which are less prone to noise, all electronics benefit from extra shielding. This guitar also presents quite a different look with its black pickguard, all black pickups and black control knobs. Vintage Style tremolo with high mass bridge block While there's no denying the fact that Leo Fender's guitar designs were an amazing blend of art and engineering, it was the erroneously named synchronized tremolo (it's actually a vibrato) that may well have been his most inspired bit of engineering. With it you could bend notes or even entire chords up or down without throwing the guitar out of tune. Even though Fender has continued to improve upon the tremolo, many players simply prefer the look and feel of the original. In the Standard Strat HH, there's also a high mass bridge block for improved sustain and tone. Two Tex-Mex Fat Strat humbucking pickups The Stratocaster was the first production line guitar with three pickups, and that basic configuration is just as popular today as it was in 1954. But some players happen to like the darker, smokier sound of humbucking pickups, yet they don't want to give up the sleek look or the comfort of that wonderfully contoured Strat body and the cool Fender tremolo tailpiece. For them, Fender has created the Standard Strat HH with its two hot Tex-Mex Fat Strat humbucking pickups. Who said life couldn't get any better? Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with modern "C" shape and satin polyester finish Leo Fender wasn't a guitar player. In fact, he got his start repairing radios. So he had no idea that guitars weren't supposed to have maple necks. In time, those blond maple necks and fingerboards became a Fender trademark, though the company eventually offered rosewood fingerboards on most of its models. The Standard Strat HH has a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard for those who prefer the slightly warmer sound and feel. In keeping with contemporary tastes, this Strat has the modern "C" shape maple neck with a satin polyester finish.
