Title: Shockingly Good – This Squier Punches Way Above Its Weight
I wasn't expecting much when I picked up this Squier Strat—just needed a beater to mess around with while I dialed in setups and played with wiring mods. What I got? Something that made me stop mid-strum and say, "Wait a second… this thing rips."

Out of the box, the fit and finish were way cleaner than I anticipated. The frets were polished, the neck was comfortable, and everything was tight—no weird gaps or sharp fret ends. Electronics? This thing sounds a lot like my MIM Fender, and the tone is surprisingly rich. It's got that classic Strat quack in the 2 and 4 positions, and with a decent amp, it sings.

This thing made me question why I ever spent four times as much on other guitars. It's not just "good for a Squier"—it's good, period. If you're on the fence or just need a solid backup or travel guitar, stop overthinking it. This one's a sleeper hit.
Music background: I started playing at 7 years old ... I still don't know how to play like Eddie :)
An amazing Strat!!
The best thing about this guitar, besides the finish, is how it stays in tune. The tuners themselves are incredible with no slack or weird feeling. I feel like I may have gotten lucky because even the frets are perfect! I'm just a stay at home player and still have a lot to learn skill wise, but I know enough about what to look for in the QA department and I couldn't be happier.
Underrated Strat
I don't regret this purchase AT ALL! It came with a very good set up. It plays like heaven and it's absolutely beautiful.
The shipping was fast and the packaging was incredible, zero damage. (Received 2 days after purchase)
If you're on the fence or looking for a good Strat, look no further, buy it, you won't regret it.
The quality is amazing, frets have zero spurs, trem is perfect and the finish is high quality!
I was playing a bullet for 3 years, the affinity is of much higher quality.
Thank you to Sweetwater!
Extremely happy, only problem is I can't put this guitar down,
Awesome Stratocaster!
I recently bought this as my second guitar after already owning a Telecaster. This guitar sounds phenomenal, it nails the Jimi Hendrix tone with my Boss Katana, I absolutely love playing it. The construction is sturdy and smooth, I highly recommend it to anyone on a budget! The Olympic White finish and maple fretboard look great, reminds me of Jimi's Woodstock strat! The only change I would make would be making the wood have a darker finish so it looks more aged, but that will just be a side project for me in the future. The neck pickup is chimey and bell-like, the middle is very steely and metallic, and the bridge is sharp and harsh (I prefer my Tele bridge). The neck-middle position sounds awesome as well, having an almost nasal quack. So happy with this stratocaster!
Music background: Playing for a year, avid listener of music before then
Great value and tons of fun.
Squire has been knocking it out of the park recently. The only "bad parts" were the setup and the fretboard edges. I lowered the action then rolled the fretboard edges with a sharp blade and refinished the fretends. Then I polished it up with 220 and 1000 sandpaper and 0000 steelwool. It was good before doing all the work but it felt a little too squared off in the hand. Thick neck for a strat. They must have been trying to continue with the 70's theme of the headstock. Speaking of that, there was a ringing sound coming off the G-string above the nut. A hairtie or rubberband fixes that but with Jimi style fuzz it's pays to let the headstock ring. By far, the best $ I've ever spent and the reason I'll be buying sets of split-top tuners for every other guitar I own.
