A Strat with the Best of Yesterday and Today

The Fender American Professional Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar has been crafted to give you the best design elements from classic vintage Strats and the most popular modern features in one gig-ready instrument. Tim Shaw designed the three V-mod single-coil pickups for a vintage voice that is balanced across all the switch positions. Fender's popular neck carve has been enhanced to a Deep-C profile that fits your hand comfortably. The Fender American Professional Stratocaster has all the elements that make Fender guitars legendary, and much more.

The Guitar that Changed the World

There may not be a model of solidbody electric guitar that is more ingrained in modern culture than the Fender Stratocaster. Its finely sculpted body, groundbreaking tremolo design, and clear-as-a-bell trio of single-coil pickups come together in an instrument that is embraced by players in every genre of music around the world. This American Professional Stratocaster is the direct descendent of all those iconic guitars. And it boasts all the same features, playability, and versatility that defines the instrument.

Balanced, vintage-voiced electronics

A great set of vintage Strat single-coil pickups should be crystal-clear sounding, enhance your playing nuance, and be able to get gritty and aggressive when needed. Pickup guru Tim Shaw designed this set of V-mod single-coils to do just that. But unlike vintage pickups, the V-mod single-coils are crafted with different alnico magnets in each pickup. This means you'll enjoy consistent output across all the pickup positions. And the onboard treble bleed circuit ensures your tone stays clear and present when lowering the guitar's volume.

Custom Shop-influenced neck

The Deep-C neck profile that you'll find on the Fender American Professional Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar is a slight upgrade from the Fender American neck players have been in love with for years. By adding a touch more roundness to the back contour, the Deep-C carve fits your hand perfectly while never inhibiting your technique. And you fingers will immediately notice how much control they have on the fretboard's narrow-tall frets. For good reason, this fret wire is the most requested size at the Fender Custom Shop.

Fender American 2-point tremolo

A Fender Strat wouldn't be a Fender Strat without the non-locking tremolo design that turned the world on its ear in the early 1950s. The American Professional Stratocaster boasts an updated take on that design that meets the needs of today's players. Its 2-point construction makes action adjustments a breeze, while providing plenty of stability. And the pop-in arm mechanism is extremely convenient, holds the tremolo arm from having too much play, and allows you to adjust the tension on the arm.

Fender American Professional Stratocaster Features:

  • A Stratocaster design that blends the best of modern and vintage construction
  • Balanced-sounding alder body
  • Maple neck with comfortable deep "C" profile
  • 3 Shaw-designed V-mod single-coil pickups are balanced across the positions
  • Narrow-tall frets are the most requested size in the Fender Custom Shop
  • 2-point tremolo with pop-in arm
  • Comfortable 9.5" fretboard radius

Not a Strat man

I bought this guitar a year ago, I was and had been a Les Paul man. I wanted to broaden my tonal horizon. I had purchased a Squire standard Strat from a pawn shop and it wasn't to bad. I have been blown away by this guitar, I played it a couple of hours when I first got it then put it in its case. I recently got it out and can't put it down. I changed the strings and put 11's on it the tone is amazing. This is becoming my go to guitar that is saying a lot I have 14 electric's all configuration. This guitar can do just about everything from jazz and blues to rock and roll. The feel is incredible the notes just flow. I would highly recommend this guitar.

Just bought one of these, beautiful craftsmanship , very nice! But even better is my sales engineer, Ben Robinson!!! This guy is the best. All he wants is to make sure your happy!!! I mean it, hear me out on this one. The gear is great but there people are even better!!! Take Tom the head guy in Technical , he's Awesome !! The techs themselves , Dakota , Justin, All of them. But Ben Robinson is beyond helpful, he will bend over backwards just to make sure your are happy with your Gear!! You can sell great gear but if you don't have the right people working for you it doesn't mean anything. Take my word for it SWEETWATER puts there customers first!!!! Thanks Ben your the best always!!!!!!

Very Nice Stratocaster

I have had many Strat's. I am very pleased with this one. The workmanship and ease of playing are both great, I am sure in-part based on Sweetwater's 55-point pre-inspection. I especially like the pop-in tremelo arm vs. screw in. The new pickups and bone nut are great additions too and the case is high quality. Of course, Olympic White is my favorite. As always my Sales Engineer, Carson McClain, provides incredible overall value in many ways. If you haven't bought before, ask for Carson!

SWEET Guitar

This guitar is so easy to play, and craftsmanship is superb. Beautiful!! Thanks much to Nick Huskins. He was always there to help with everything. Terrific job!

This guitar is the best playing guitar I have ever owned! The tone and feel are even better than I expected it to be. I knew it was going to be awesome but did not expect to be this great. The only thing better than the guitar is Bart Good's service. Bart and Sweetwater are A+++ in my book!! I send everyone I can to Sweetwater.

Sweetwater Advice

Fender American Professional Stratocaster

The Professional's snappy unplugged sound promises high-end excitement and, man, does it deliver when plugged in! In every pickup position, tones ring and chime, with snappy-crisp attack and pleasing sustain. But that's not to say the Professional is excessively bright. Thanks to the guitar's basic tonal balance and sense of top-end headroom, you can dig in hard for aggressively bright tones that still sound even and listenable....
