Upgraded with Additional Mics and Stereo Mixes

Perfect for producers and composers after the most comprehensive chamber orchestra plug-in possible, Spitfire Audio’s Chamber Strings Professional comes packed with a plethora of pro-level upgrades exclusive to this premium version. This library comprises a chamber orchestra of 16 first-rate musicians, all of whom are captured with impeccable depth and detail at Air Studios’ legendary Lyndhurst Hall. Chamber Strings Professional provides a staggering 244 articulations, consisting of 38 shorts, 53 longs, 19 effects, ensemble articulations, and 45 legatos that range from the absolutely essential to unique, less-common techniques. Furthermore, Chamber Strings Professional grants you seven flexible microphone positions to choose from, in addition to Fine, Medium, and Broad stereo mixes for all techniques sans the ensembles. You also get a built-in pattern sequencer and an intuitive GUI. Sporting a more focused and defined sound than Spitfire’s massive 40-piece Symphony Orchestra plug-in, Chamber Strings Professional is an immensely powerful tool that lends an intimate edge to scores, soundtracks, pop records, and beyond.

Note: This product requires Kontakt Full or Kontakt Player to operate. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions.

A more intimate orchestral sound

While epic-sounding 40-piece orchestra plug-ins have their place, Spitfire Audio’s Chamber strings collection was born from a need for a clearer and more intimate orchestra library. In fact, Spitfire Audio tells Sweetwater that plug-in is the result of a rather compelling musical question: just how far can you pare down an orchestra section before it loses the sound of a section? According to Spitfire, the answer is four first violins, three 2nd violins, three violas, three cellos, and three basses — a configuration that retains the lush depth and elegance of an ensemble, only with a more refined and understated feel to better serve composers seeking a less bombastic orchestra tool.

About Lyndhurst Hall

Lyndhurst Hall was initially constructed in 1884 by Alfred Waterhouse, an architect renowned for devising London’s Natural History Museum. The hall would be used for a multitude of purposes throughout the decades, including emergency shelters during both World War I and II, as well as hosting live events, club meetings, and church gatherings. Following a closure in the 1970s, Sir George Martin reopened Lyndhurst Hall in 1992, becoming a go-to choice for recording music that would go on to be heard in homes and cinemas around the world, including Oscar-winning and nominated works, as well as triple-A video games.

Spitfire Audio: virtual tools for weaving sonic colorful tapestries

Spitfire Audio sits at the nexus of power and possibility, with its expansive catalog of diverse and inspiring virtual instruments serving as tools for summiting uncharted peaks of sonic exploration. Across classical, experimental, esoteric, and international realms of orchestration, Spitfire Audio’s instrumental suite comprises an invigorating medley of evocative compositional capabilities. State-of-the-art capture technologies were wielded by daring musical minds, with the likes of Hans Zimmer, BT, Ólafur Arnalds, Evelyn Glennie, Lea Bertucci, and the London Contemporary Orchestra among the company’s pantheon of collaborators. Strings, brass, world percussion, keys, guitars, synths, effects — Spitfire Audio is your gateway to varying hues of masterfully designed and resynthesized cinematic sound.
