Efficient solution to light small bands in small spaces, but can wear out
I bought two of these for a local cover band playing local bars. In small venues where lighting is not provided and there isn't room to set up a 4-par tree, we can bolt these on top of speakers on stands and angle them down to give the band a rudimentary lighting wash. They work well and do the job for not much cash and no additional space needed. Probably the best compact option to spread a lot of light around.

The only problem is a design flaw if you're putting them to frequent use. The knobs that secure the mounting brackets to the light screw into a nut embedded in the plastic housing of the light. If you're tightening and loosening those knobs frequently (i.e. if your band is busy), the nut can grind away the plastic until the knob can no longer be tightened (it doesn't come loose, it just spins in place without tightening). That effectively makes the light unusable and there's no way to fix it (the problem is the housing, so you can't just replace the nut), so I've had to replace them periodically - like after 18 months or so of several gigs a month. It would be nice if Chauvet found a way to prevent this happening or make it repairable.
