Powerful Expression with You in Mind

More and more, guitarists are relying on expression pedals for conjuring on-the-fly control over their effect parameters. With the introduction of the EHX Expression Pedal, you're now able to get that same control in a rugged but lightweight pedal with a few extra bells and whistles. The Expression Pedal boasts polarity and reverse switches for fine-tuning the pedal's response to your effects. And you'll also fall in love with the EHX Expression Pedal's onboard range control. Every player needs an expression pedal, and EHX's is one of the most powerful and convenient available.

Engineered for gigging musicians

The Expression Pedal features a lot of design elements that make it a fantastic choice for gigging and touring musicians. Its casing is made from an extremely rugged polymer. This material not only protects the pedal and ensures years of issue-free use, but it also reduces weight. Sweetwater knows this is an increasingly valuable trait for musicians, as traveling with heavy pedalboards is becoming more difficult every day. The Expression Pedal will stand up to your performances night after night while still saving you a few pounds.

EHX Expression Pedal Features:

  • Expression pedal engineered for player convenience
  • Lightweight but rugged casing saves you from heavy pedalboards
  • Range control and polarity switch fine-tune the pedal's performance
  • Reverse button changes the direction of the effect in relation to the Expression Pedal

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

My Girlfriend Still Says I'm Not Expressive Enough.

I recently set up my bass pedals on a new pedalboard chassis and discovered, without planning it, I could finally access the expression pedal jack on my Bass Mono Synth pedal with ease. I chose the EHX single-line pedal for its height, low weight and guaranteed compatibility with the EHX synth unit. It works. It works really well. It gives me a completely different type of functionality for the pedal than simply having one sound setting to punch in and out during a live situation -- which is still the default, for practical purposes. But this lightweight unit stays put on a flat surface and offers a comfortable sweep with no wasted play -- and also allows you to set the lower threshold of the parameter with the nicely-recessed Range wheel. The low profile allows it to slip into the long pocket of a gig bag and the minimal, shallow detail of the molded polymer case makes for easy cleaning. Minus one-half a star for the audible "clunk" of this pedal due to the lack of mass -- the same lightweight quality also makes it a bit hollow-sounding at both ends of the pedal sweep. But that noise gets covered up completely in a playing situation. Nonetheless, this pedal makes my synth pedal a lot more fun to practice with and is totally worth it.

Decent for my needs

I bought this specifically to use with a Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe. Yes, it allows the BED to be under your total control while playing, not losing a beat. It controls the 'spin speed' of a rotary speaker; controls the 'tape' speed while on echoplex mode; adds or detracts from tape runaways, etc.
The E.Hx. single feels decent while in use with a similar pivot point as to a Dunlop Crybaby.
The BED requires a pedal with negative polarity which the E.H.x. Exp. has.
Also, you can reverse the pedal to act opposite from front to back. It's nice to have that choice in a passive pedal.
It does what it is supposed to do, feels fairly well made and doesn't break the bank.
Good recommendation by S.W.!

EHX SIngle expression pedal

It works exactly as it should. It's an expression pedal. It has the capability to work with other makers equipment with the switches and such, which may prove useful as I collect more. I use it with my EHX pedal, so it works with the default switch settings. The range dial works as described. When goofing around in my home "Studio," I generally have it "dime'd."
It's made out of some tough stuff, so it should last me.
Taking it out of the box, I noticed a noise when the pedal was traveling through it's range. Thought that would be a detractor, but it isn't. (A mechanical noise in the mechanism.) Can't hear it in the signal, and certainly can't hear the mechanical noise over even a small amp at low volume. Fiddling with my Dunlop Cry Baby, it makes noises too. Just never noticed them until I thought to check.
It's stable, and has a good feel to it.
Music background: 39 years of Guitar.

Great for the price

I don't often use an expression pedal. If I could use my hands and feet at the same time I would be a drummer. Seems like everyone needs a drummer. So when I do use a expression pedal I want it to be ... cheap. Elextro-Harmonix makes great stuff and the price point for this is perfect. It does want I want. I like it.
