beautiful analog sounds

I am using this mixer mainly to mic up drums for personal monitoring through in-ear buds. I am also using it to mix my band for practice as well as live venues. First of all I was blown away by the preamp and eq. I hooked up a guitar and dialed in a sound so magical it made my skin crawl. I have a Neve preamp and DI box that this is equal too if not, dare I say, slightly less in sound quality. Routing seems pretty straight forward, although I have not done much with groups or USB. I have an Apogee interface I use with my Mac that is higher bit rate and bandwidth and I may use this mixer to sum out into the Apogee, I would eventually like to try out this board with USB just to see how it sounds but I believe its maxed out at 48khz (I like 96khz- 24 bit). As far as miking drums goes, I am able to get my cheapo CAD mics to sound pretty sweet. I even used the limiter and ended up turning it off because the preamp seems to have so much head room I am able to get adequate volume without peaking. The effects seem to be top notch as well, I have played with the reverbs and delays and all seem to sound very analog, not too brittle like some digital stuff. All in all this Board makes me feel like I've stepped into owning an API or Neve console for a ton less money (and space).

Thank You

OOO My OOOO My !! After purchasing MTK 22 I won't go back to in the box emulation EQs ever. The Mids and highs are so smooth that every track sit in the mix like a magic without being abrasive. Mic Pres in this board sounds way better than my single channel outboard pre which costs twice as much more than this board.

Amazing board

The dude that talks about being an "amateur" board and all that non-sense about not having "post'EQ" (which you can while routing back to your DAW) has absolutely no clue how a mixing board works (Analogue tech, LOL!!!) An amazing product for the price. Not the best sound card, but at least it lets you record up to 22 channels simultaneously. An amazing buy. Recommend all the way!!!

Very impressed

It was time to replace my Mackie SR24-4 which I had used in my studio for almost 20 years. I am a composer using Sonar Platinum as my main DAW. Since any DAW has a digital mixer I approached mixing with that as my first thought then output through my Edirol FA101 sound module to my mixer to a second computer with sound module for final mixing. Whatever you think of this I knew it was time to upgrade. The Sweetwater rep Geoff Allen suggested the Soundcraft Signature 22. I had never heard of it. I read the specs and could hardly believe all the features available. I ordered it. It arrived promptly and well packaged. I studied some tutorials READ THE MANUAL several times and began to integrate it into my studio. It has replaced my Edirol FA101 and my Mackie board as well as two external FX units. With 22 ins and outs it has revolutionized my recording and mixing. The sound has definitely improved and the workflow as well. I mixed one song from my project with the ability to sum back to Sonar within the particular project and the result was excellent. I am still learning and very impressed.
