Reviews

It's what's inside that counts

I put four of these Seventy 80s in one of my Marshall HDFX cabs and the result was nothing short of amazing. After a reasonable break-in period,my cab sounds like I paid $ for it.If you are in the "relentless pursuit of tone", and on a budget, no matter what you are using for an amp head, guitar or pedals, you are going to sound better with the right speakers. Make no mistake, you will need a decent head and a good guitar, but you still don't need to spend thousands of dollars on gear to sound good. Oh, and it helps if you can play guitar in the first place. Thank you to Sweetwater for making it possible for me to get these on a payment plan, and special thanks to Rodney Pardue for being an awesome rep!

Music background: Fifty years of musicianship, playing live and in the studio.
Underrated Rock Staple
This speaker gets a bad rep based on price alone. Strong low range and beefy mids. I compared to a G12M-65 Creamback in the same cab and they both have their place, don't overlook this one. Great service from Steve Wessing (SE)as always, great resource to bounce questions off of.
Kustom HV65 & Kustom HV100
This speaker is in both of my Kustom amps i have do admit never once an issues with sound & reliability. Sounds amazing
Great Speaker for the price point
I installed this celestion seventy speaker in a 1X12 cabinet. Running with a Peavey Classic 30 head and wow! These speakers get the job done whether you are driving them hard with a great rock and blues distortion or just a good clean R&B or country sound. Easy to install and a good product for the money. I purchased another I was so please with the performance and price point. Open back and closed back cabinets they work fine. I have had them for over a year now and no problems with either one I have installed.
Music background: Playing musican for over 30 years.
Great value, Great sound
I've watched plenty of YouTube videos regarding the seventy 80 Celestion speakers and I needed good speakers to replace the horrible Turbosound speakers in my Bugera 1x12 cabinets. I was a bit skeptical about these speakers but in the end I was rewarded with a massive upgrade to my sound!

Great mid range voice to these but not weak or shrill. Highly articulate highs and deep, not muddy lows. I played using an Orange Crush 100 head I borrowed, my Boss Katana head, a Blackstar HT-5 tube head, and more recently the Blackstar Amped 2 amp pedal. All I can say is wow! Completely brought my cabinets to life. I play everything from blues and funk to metal and these speakers fit the bill perfectly. These speakers are phenomenal and the price is fantastic.

As always a big shout out to Sweetwater and my sales engineer Nico for making my playing experience incredible. Fast delivery, free shipping, extended warranty, amazing customer service, I could keep going but anyone reading this who has made a purchase with Sweetwater knows what I'm talking about. Anyone who hasn't, why exactly are you hesitating?
