Cutting-edge, Vintage-style Digital EP

The Crumar Seventeen picks up where the model Seven left off. With the Seven, the Italian company struck gold with the instrument’s “vintage suitcase-style digital electric piano” concept and created a new industry standard in the process. Powered by both state-of-the-art physical modeling and sampling technology, Seventeen delivers all the vintage crunch and chime of its predecessor, but it’s cased in a durable, lightweight Tolex type of material construction that enhances gigability and affordability. You’ll delight to the sound and playing response of the modeled tine electric piano and a selection of the most iconic vintage EPs, including ’70s and ’80s electric grands and a classic reed EP, plus an authentic clavinet. Also onboard are high-quality samples of essential acoustic pianos, combos, and synths. If you’ve played vintage EPs and love the playing feel, you’ll be right at home on the Crumar Seventeen. Spec’d with the same 73-note hammer-action keybed as featured on the model Seven, Seventeen plays like a dream.

Elegant design in both form and function

Seventeen’s straightforward control panel gives you real-time access to everything you need to quickly select your sounds and polish them to perfection in the heat of a live show or studio session. Seventeen’s robust effects engine includes tremolo, vibrato, wah, chorus, phaser, and flanger; plus reverb, delay, 3-band EQ, and amp simulation. Expandability is built in, with wavetable expansions being interchangeable between the Seven and Seventeen. In other words, when a new sound set is released for the Seven, it will also work with the Seventeen. Overall, Crumar has achieved an elegant design in both form and function. To complete the vintage visuals, there’s even a set of optional inclined legs available. And all the connections are conveniently located on one panel on the left side of the instrument. If you’re in the market for an affordable modern vintage-style electric piano with great sounds, excellent playability, and easy portability, pick up the Crumar Seventeen from Sweetwater.

Looks great with the legs!
…if you get this, you gotta get the legs - right at home in vintage-land!
This thing is awesome!

I had been researching and researching and researching for almost half a year looking for a keyboard that met a lot of my interest. I went back and forth between Roland Juno D8, Yamaha CK88, and Korg SV2. Ultimately, I was looking for a product that had great e-piano sounds, a nice key-bed, portable (size and weight), and not out of my budget (less then around $). I watched tons of Youtube comparisons between those three mentioned, and never felt confident that I was making the right choice for the longhaul. (I wanted the SV2 by far, but it was way out of my budget.)Then, finally, by the grace of God, someone mentioned Crumar on a reddit post and I never looked back! The Seventeen is awesome. It has great sounds, its not too heavy, and for its caliber it doesn't break the bank. I have not gotten to tweak with the parameters much, but their are a good bit of on-board parameters to modify the instrument sounds to your liking. All in all, this thing is great!

Just what I looking for.
I have been looking for a keyboard with these qualities; light weight, high build quality, great sounding. I in my early years have owned four or five Fender Rhodes. It was the thing back then. Very heavy. This Crumar Seventeen sounds like the best Rhodes I have ever heard. At 26.5 lbs. In the soft case it feels like I'm carrying a bass guitar. Plus it seems to also possess the best acoustic piano sounds I've heard. The action feels just like a Fender Rhodes. There is tremendous control over all the perimeters. I received this only yesterday but am looking forward using it at work.
Music background: Over 50 years playing Jazz, study Classical, early years. Rock.
Vintage heaven....
So, I'm wandering through the Sweetwater website and I stop in amazement - it's the 1960's RMI Piano I played for years - the blue and black tolex, the brushed aluminium control panel and legs... But no, it's the Crumar 17. While its vintage looks attracted me, its sounds really hooked me. This is truly an electric piano featuring models and samples of vintage Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Yamaha electric grands and more. It seems the Rhodes is modeled and everything else is sampled. The presets are great, but like every other instrument, the sounds really come to life when you begin programming them. There are lots of parameters to play with and you program it from the front panel (not the quirky wifi setup on the Mojo). You program it exactly like you program the GSi Burn (a quirky Leslie Sim they made). If you have a Burn you'll feel right at home, if not it might take a little bit to get used to. There are separate parameters for the modeled electric piano and the sampled instruments; you have access to all of them no matter what you are editing - but changing the Rhodes parameters will have no effect on the Wurlitzer samples for example. Anyways, it can sound amazing and the keyboard feels very nice. It has no midi in, but you can easily play it from any controller that has midi via usb. There are some acoustic pianos and layered sounds I haven't played with yet, but no organs or brass sections. It has an amazing vintage appearance down to the metal corners like the Fender amps, and the Rhodes, Wurlitzer, electric grands, and Clavinet are all amazing. It has a very nice piano feel which works great with all the piano sounds. And maybe they'll add a nice set of samples of RMI electric piano sounds! btw, the electric pianos in the 17 sound much better than the same pianos in the Mojo 61 which makes sense since the Mojo 61 is, after all, an organ
