Practically Endless Modulation Potential for Guitar and Bass

Keeley claims the Seafoam Plus tri-mode chorus pedal packs "a new style of chorus that actually sounds right." A big claim, but it's hard to argue with once you've put this versatile pedal through its paces. It uses Keeley's Automatic Double Tracking (ADT) developed for their Double Tracker pedal to create what Keeley calls "True Chorus," which creates second and third voices with slightly different timing and pitch characteristics. The result is lush and wide, even more so when you dial in reverb with the Space knob. And with selectable voicings optimized for either guitar or bass, the Keeley Seamfoam Plus is one of the most versatile chorus pedals you'll find.

Choose from Modern or Vintage voicings

Keeley equips the Seafoam Plus pedal with an internal switch to select from Modern (default) and Vintage modes. Modern mode is an ultra-wide, lush, high-fidelity chorus effect. Vintage mode sounds softer, smoother, and warmer.

Ideal for bass too

Speaking of internal switches, you'll find another inside the Seafoam Plus pedal that switches between Guitar (default) and Bass modes. Guitar mode is optimized for guitar. Bass is optimized for bass. Choose wisely.

Dual Chorus Mode for unique modulation effects

At Sweetwater, one of our favorite features on the Seafoam Plus pedal is the Dual Chorus mode. It's a frequency crossover-based chorus effect that allows you to target either the high or low end of the frequency spectrum. Said another way, you can add a subtle shimmer to your highs without affecting lows, or create a throbbing bass range with a stable top end.

Keeley Seafoam Plus Tri-mode Chorus Pedal Features:

  • Chorus/flanger/tremolo/vibrato/reverb pedal for guitar and bass
  • Internal switches to toggle Guitar/Bass and Modern/Vintage modes
  • Reverb available in Dimension mode (via Space knob) for adding sweet ambience
  • Seafoam mode features vintage bucket brigade-style chorus with an adjustable Tone control
  • Dual Chorus mode allows you to affect just your highs or lows for sonic creativity

Reviews

Just right
I like my modulation effects to be subtle. Most chorus pedals I looked at have way more functions than I need or not enough. I pretty much keep it in "Seafoam" mode, which is the standard chorus effect. In this mode the Space knob functions as tone control. This, combined with the mix control allows you to dial in a smooth non-digital sounding tone. Some of the knobs take on other functions in the ADT and Dual Chorus modes. These yield interesting effects for occasional use. Not necessary for me but fun to have them there and doesn't result in extra knobs or the need to download anything.

Review for Bass
I got this pedal almost exclusively to use on bass. I already have my chorus needs covered for guitar, but I did try it out on my guitar setup, too. Long story short, it sounds awesome with either setup. This review is going to be short, but focus on the bass mode.

I like my bass chorus to have a fairly slow rate, sometimes kinda low in the mix, sometimes pretty wet. The Seafoam+ sounds great both ways. You can control the actual low-end in the mix with the Space knob on one of the settings. There's another setting that includes a bit of flanger and totally reminds me of Tool.

I use a Spector Legend 4 and Peavey amp. The Seafoam now goes into a VT Sansamp and those are the only two pedals I currently use. The band I play in does a lot of 80's, 90's, and original rock. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the pedal and love the fact that it can easily work for bass and guitar.
Really good sounding chorus pedal!
I have been looking for a good chorus pedal that doesn't cause distorted tone when cranked up on the clean channel of my amp. I have been using EVH 5150 chorus which sounds really good but when the volume gets cranked it clips and becomes distorted. I've tried all I know to fix the problem. In the fx loop and in front of the amp in different places in the chain to no avail. Might be my amp all EVH products are top notch coming from a man that changed guitar playing forever. So I tried the Seafoam pedal and it seems to be exactly what I was needing for the type of music we play in church. My wife even says it sounds cool. Haven't had the chance to use it on stage yet do to COVID restrictions in our area but used it for several hours at home and it sounds great. The ADT mode works best for me. When you engage it no rise in volume or cut in volume stays true which I like. Never used Keeley products before but thanks to my friends at Sweetwater especially my good friend Nick Hammer whom to me feels like apart of the family I'm enjoying my Keeley pedal. Thanks Nick!!!

Love this pedal.
I love this pedal. I started off looking for a simple chorus, so glad to stumble upon this one.
So many voicings possible, heck it's even a hoot to put vocals through.

Thank you Sweetwater and Keeley
Great Pedal
Keeley Always makes top notch pedals. It's a great chorus pedal but has a few other Unique tones you can dial-in which makes it very versatile. Very pleased!
