Versatile, Lightweight Shockmount for Large-diaphragm Mics

Large-diaphragm mics constitute some of Sweetwater studio engineers' favorite mics for vocals, drums, and everything in between. Sometimes, placing and supporting large-diaphragm mics can be a bit tricky on account of their heftier size, but the Behringer SMP2000 shockmount effortlessly eliminates this issue. The SMP2000 is a lightweight, wonderfully versatile shockmount that provides your large-diaphragm mics with superior noise isolation, first and foremost. It also features an adjustable pop filter that can be attached when guarding against plosives for vocals, or completely removed when recording other sources. Moreover, the SMP2000 employs a hinged vertical angle control that provides you with effortless placement of your large-diaphragm mics. Finally, the SMP2000 shockmount fits a wide range of large-diaphragm mics, so you very likely can put it to immediate use no matter what's in your mic locker.

Note: For information about microphone compatibility with the Behringer SMP2000 shockmount, please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.

Reviews

Excellent solution for big, heavy mics

Like another reviewer, I bought this to hold up an Aston Spirit. I had a couple of universal shock mounts but they weren't large enough to accommodate the 54mm diameter of the mic. I considered dropping $ for the Aston Swiftshield, but couldn't bring myself to pass up the less-than-half-price Behringer SMP2000, which is functionally identical. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The plastic construction feels a little cheap but it's definitely strong enough to hold this mic in place. We'll see how long it lasts but, I have to say that I've been impressed with Behringer stuff in general.

Took a chance....it's awesome.

I have an Aston Spirit and didn't feel like dropping $ on the typical options. I wasn't sure if it would fit as the min/max dimensions are not given, but I can confirm, it fits the Spirit at 2.13 inches or 54mm...and could fit even larger mics.

I took a chance and Behringer did what Behringer does best...a great price point on an item that should have never been so expensive in the first place.

It's good but...Brass coupling. Be careful
It's a nice shock mount but it has a brass coupling. If you are attaching it to steel or aluminum and you leave it there, you won't be able to get it off. I was going to leave it mounted on my desk stand but I'll just have to detach it after every use. I don't know why they'd use brass fittings. Most stands are steel or aluminum. Other than that it should be a good shock mount. I like that it screws for moving the mic in and out. I also like the metal pop filter.
