This Hollowbody Packs Major Tonal Versatility

This eye-popping instrument features a figured maple top and back with mahogany sides, a tonewood combination that delivers extraordinary clarity and warm resonance. The SE Hollowbody II Piezo also features a comfortable Wide Fat mahogany set neck and a premium ebony fingerboard emblazoned with iconic PRS bird inlays. Two tone-laden 58/15 LT “S” humbucking pickups and a piezo system round out the design. The PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo is built like no other guitar. Instead of the center block that runs top-to-bottom through semi-hollow guitar bodies, the SE Hollowbody II Piezo features only a small block that anchors the bridge. This proprietary PRS construction gives you the warm resonance of a full hollowbody with the clarity, sustain, and rock-solid stability of a semi — all in a comfortable thin-profile instrument. So if you’re a solidbody player, you’ll feel right at home on an SE Hollowbody II Piezo.

Vintage-voiced 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers and piezo system

The SE Hollowbody II Piezo showcases serious sonic flexibility. Most notably, it’s powered by a pair of PRS 58/15 LT “S” humbucking pickups that deliver vintage character with modern clarity. Featuring a powerful bridge pickup and neck pickup with the perfect amount of brightness, the 58/15 LT “S” set packs a powerful sonic punch, from chimey cleans to full shred. But that’s not all that’s hidden inside this guitar’s body. It’s equipped with a piezo pickup that amplifies the hollowbody’s acoustic tone. For sets that require acoustic and electric guitars, Sweetwater’s gigging guitarists believe that the SE Hollowbody II Piezo will do the job.

Wide Fat neck profile and premium appointments

Neck shapes are critical to your playing experience and a hallmark of PRS quality. The SE Hollowbody II Piezo is fitted with PRS’s Wide Fat set neck. Perfected after years of prototyping, the Wide Fat neck carve is based on designs Paul Reed Smith created in the ’70s and ’80s for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton, and Howard Leese of Heart. Paired with a “violin carve” typically reserved for flagship Core and Private Stock lines, wing button tuners, sloped pickup rings, and a premium ebony fingerboard, the SE Hollowbody II Piezo is a guitar perfected for comfort and style.

Wow

I did get it pleked because that's the only way to go. It plays like a dream. The piezo pickups are a sick addition. They sound perfect. The magnetic pickups are probably the most sonically balanced pickups I've personally used. Having the option of running the piezo and magnetic pickups at the same time, or taking advantage of the dual input jacks to process them separately is a game changer. I've been able to get any tone I want from this guitar via my helix and FRFR setup. The tuners do their job but do feel cheap if I may say. The guitar stays in tune great. The pictures of the guitar from the Sweetwater site can't even do justice of how it looks in real life. I was pleasantly surprised by how much richer the color looks in person versus the Sweetwater pictures. I did find some sort of blemish on the side of the neck. I'm telling myself it was from the pleking process, and no I have not told my Sweetwater rep because it's not a big deal to me. I wouldn't have even noticed had I not been in good lighting. The guitar is too perfect for me to even care about the blemish. This is my first PRS and my first hollow body. Also it sucks Sweetwater has this guitar for $ off right now I'd like to have saved an extra $. Would I buy the guitar again if I had to? Absolutely. Would I go through Sweetwater again? Absolutely. Cheers.

Road warrior

I own both the SE and the Core Hollowbody 2s and both there price points are pretty accurate. For $ I have a guitar that looks and sounds great that I take on the road with me 28 weeks a year. The core HB2 never leaves the house but neither go out of tune. Eric has been a big help in all my pedal and PRs guitar purchases. I'd give him 6 stars and a 10 dollar 10 tip

Sweetest Guitar
The first time I saw this in person I was amazed at how beautiful it looked, and when I picked it up, it was light and it just felt so balanced and smooth. Then I started playing my usual licks and songs and WOW! The action was the best I ever played on and I have a very extensive collection of guitars and I have some really expensive ones and this actually blows them away in terms of playability, craftsmanship and feel. When I hookec it up to an amp I realized you can plug both Acoustic and Electric (a first for me) and just as a Stand alone amp, either way it sounds amazing. IT is quite honestly one of my most favorite guitars and I have all kinds and brands and some really high end collectables. I am a huge PRS fan even before purchasing this guitar. I have several PRS models all looks beautiful but this one just plays so incredibly smooth and I fell like I hav far less mess ups because of the highly calibrated action. I stays in tune really well and the best part is I can wear it around my neck for a few hours without hurting to much, as most guitars literally began weigh own you. THIS IS A FANTASTIC GUITAR!!!!!

Humbled!

I am kind of a USA guitar only snob, or wise I should say. I have played many years and yes i have actually owned well over a hundred guitars, This thing is sweet, The quality and attention to detail are outstanding. I took to it right away. ebony fret board is crazy smooth and fast. the thickness of the neck is perfect and its wide but not overly wide, Right away I was like I'm changing the pickups ,before i got it, and realized they fit the guitar perfectly. The piezo is great in a couple way. It sounds pretty good into a PA, I put a boss ac-2 for some warmth and an eq and it is really hard to tell the difference from a real acoustic, but it really shines if your playing the regulars pups and dial in some fatness from the piezo really great sound. I would suggest that there are some good deals out there. or of course Sweetwater payments make it easy on your budget, anyhow if maybe you are worried it's made in China, don't be. Remember that they have some of the best artists in the world over there.
