Keep your 335 sounding like it should
when I bought my 335, the first thing I did was change the strings to my "usual" brand. Suddenly the guitar sounded terrible. I frantically contacted GIBSON to ask what their 335"s were shipped with.
They told me it was this brand/model string.
I bought them… and SUDDENLY the guitar was back to the TONE that I paid for. That's the strongest praise I can offer.
I haven't tried them on my more "rock" guitars (since I have been very happy with "their" tone, all along…and these strings are more expensive…and I am pretty cheap. For a "classic" guitar like a 335 (to me anyway) these are truly essential. I was (at first) kinda bummed out at this extra $$ situation, but then I realized that they really do last a long time. So it turned out to be a "6 of one/half dozen of another" kind of situation. The consistency and quality of the tone makes them more than worth while to me.

Only strings for my Les Paul
These Strings sound great, stay in tune, and produce no buzz with lower than average action. I gave them a try about a year ago and now they are the only strings I will use for this guitar.
My favorite strings for vintage ouput pickups.
These were difficult to get for a while. So glad I was able to find them here in stock.

This set was the factory string set for Gibson Custom Shop historic Les Pauls, maybe they still are but I haven't looked for a few years. They are warm and full and have wonderfull overtones with PAF style pickups. I've been playing for almost forty years and I don't find them to be stiff, they bend easily on 24.75" scale guitars(10-46).

When they weren't available I tried several different sets trying to get the same great tone my guitar had when it was new. I prefer these by a wide margin for classic rock sounds over all those others, even the silk end-wrapped Les Paul replacement set Gibson brought out.

They seem to last about the same amount of time as D'Addario XL's, not as long as NYXL'S, and much longer than Slinkies. If you try to compare them to regular nickel coated steel strings they're too different. Pure nickel wrapped aren't as powerful, you'll need to adjust your pickup heights to account for their different strength in the magnetic field.

If you haven't tried them and are after vintage style tone definitely give them a shot!

Used Them For Years
I've been using these strings on all my electric guitars for many years. They tune well, stay in tune and bend in a very comfortable way. They last a long time and resist breakage better than other strings I've tried over the years. They also behave well when I use alternate tunings.

I use these (10s) on all my electric guitars because I like how they focus more on the fundamental tone and not bringing out too much in the way of harmonics. For me, strings that specialize on being "rich in harmonics" is similar to having an effects pedal always on. If I need more harmonics, I find it in my pickups, my amp/speaker, pedals, and of course in my playing. It's a long time habit of mine to use the same strings on my guitars. I do the same thing with my acoustic guitars. Same acoustic strings on all of them. All guitars have their own individual characteristics all by themselves and that's why I have several guitars. But I prefer to not add more variables to each guitar by setting each one up with "special strings" for each guitar. I wind up with a very similar playing "feel" on all my guitars. Very handy.

The only complaint I have about these strings is they're hard to find!
