If you're looking to outfit your decorative show kit, this isn't the clamp for you. If your kit works for a living and you need a robust way to attach a tom or addition item, this will do the job. I use it to hold a 13" tom on a tubular mount to a PDP 700 series light cymbal stand and it doesn't move or give in any way. The tom is set like a floor tom so it is quite low. The cymbal stand base tube is maybe a 3/4 inch (?) and this may go lower in diameter but don't take my word for it. This is a simple yet effective mount and, you're getting it from Sweetwater! It's a win on both counts.
