According to Sweetwater’s synthesists, Rouch Legio has more than benefited from this approach to design. Despite its 6HP profile, this 12dB/octave state-variable multimode filter packs a punch worth at least three modules of its size. Resonance and frequency values are easily dialed in by their respective encoders, but they can also be attenuated via CV, which is perfect for expressive control and live performance. In fact, the frequency encoder hosts its own fun secret: the faster you spin it, the more the rate of frequency change increases. What happens if you click it? You can immediately bypass the entire module — another must-have tool for performance purposes and capable of being activated by a gate signal to the Bypass CV input for added flexibility. Highpass, bandpass, and lowpass filter modes are toggled via a 3-way selector and the opposing tripartite switch handles — of all things — a wavefolder. That’s right, and you can choose to include it before or after the signal chain, or at both ends. The choice is yours!
