Pickups are very well balanced.i play metal with high gain amps and they are perfect.was very disappointed when having high output pickups with high gain amps.thesr are very dynamic. Cleans are amazing as well. Love this guitar.

Great Guitar

I searched for years for a good 7 string guitar to replace my ancient Ibanez Universe, and I've finally found one that, so far, I'm very happy with. The craftsmanship is, to my eye, literally flawless. The guitar is surprisingly heavy (owing presumably to the mahogany body), giving the whole instrument a very solid, "tight" feel. The neck plays fast, for some reason faster than necks with identical specs on other RGs that I've played. Most importantly, this guitar has great tone, with bright, clear highs, and a tight bottom end that shines through on the lower strings. It looks great too. The flamed maple top is subtle, but gives it just the right amount of character. The one thing I don't love is the pickups, which are reasonably well-balanced but have fairly low output. Metal players will likely want to swap out these pups, and IMO there are better options even for non-metal players.
