Its's Just a Whole Lotta Fun

This is a great program! Worth a serious look! Just in comparison, I use RealGuitar and RealLPC from MusicLab ... and they are great plugin guitars, Incredible flexibility and programming, realistic sounds, and you can program exactly what chords you want to play, as well as the ability to play solo notes or a lead guitar. Rob Papen RG Rhythm Guitar doesn't have all that flexibility, but it also doesn't take much work to get what you want. It is fast, simple with usable sounds for getting your music ideas down quickly, or to help inspire you to create and Jam. Its purpose is for the Rhythm guitar, if you are looking to play leads or individual notes, this is not the product for you. I am a keyboard player - so for a quick background guitar beat this product is perfect. Chords you can use are limited, and the only "issue" i have with it is finding the different preset patterns quickly and easily. But that is not a deal breaker at all. There are LOTS of patterns so that is great! It has a pull down menus, and you can save your favorites, and I find that very helpful. The more you use this product, the easier it gets. That being said, if you don't find what you want, it is extremely easy to modify the base patterns in the step sequencer to make them your own, or get what you want. Modifying the steps are very intuitive. Trust me, you can spend hours modifying and and never get bored! And you end up with the "wow, that sounds awesome". In addition to the basic sounds, this plugin has a synthesizer on top of the sounds. So you can modify your sounds and get additional variation. From more realistic guitar to very processed. Very inspiring for music creation. Bottom line. Well worth the money. I have had hours of fun playing and jamming along with this software. Simple, easy and quick.

Love it ,fits any music style that I'm in to. You can spend hours arraigning phrases and riffs.would be 5 stars if it had a few more guitar types. A mute point but like to see various GUI color schemes and setups. Overall it's a great app and glad I got it at Sweet Water.

Rob Papen RG

Sweet addition to any library. Unique product. Great for adding rhythm to any track. Serves the exact purpose I bought it for and its fun!!! Limited chordal voicings but you can get creative with the major and minor patterns. Can inspire grooves easily. I really enjoy this product

Using the Rob Papen RG

Whereas this software will never replace the real thing, the RG software fills a hole in my studio arsenal. It is especially useful for two things: a little funky chunking that won't be used too prominently in the track and as a heavily effected rhythm loop with more than just an eighth note or 16th note repetition. There are a lot of variables to tailor both of these instances in a track. Very inexpensive for the amount of use I will get from it.
