The Standard of Excellence for Live Performance Looping

With six stereo phrase tracks and a huge range of onboard effects, the BOSS RC-600 Loop Station represents huge creative potential for modern loop artists. With two mic inputs, two instrument inputs, and three assignable stereo outputs, you have all the routing options you could ask for onstage or in the studio. Thanks to a comprehensive assortment of onboard effects, as well as the RC-600’s class-leading 32-bit sound quality, you’ll be looping with superior sonics and little need for external effects or processing. And with deep MIDI control support, the BOSS RC-600 Loop Station is ready to integrate with advanced setups for live performance.

Ample connectivity options

Whether you’re a solo singer/songwriter, an improvisational electronic musician, an avant-garde guitarist, or any other type of loop artist, the BOSS RC-600 Loop Station offers the connectivity you need. Vocalists will appreciate its pair of mic inputs, each with phantom power to support studio-quality condenser mics. Dual inputs are available for guitarists and bassists, and they also support line level for synthesizers and other electronic instruments. And with this many input options, Sweetwater is pleased to report that you also have flexibility on the output routing side of things, with a pair of stereo sub-outputs in addition to the main stereo output.

Comprehensive onboard effects

The RC-600 offers a ton of exploratory options for your loop phrases. A total of 49 input effects are available to shape your sound on the way in. Plus, once you have a loop going, you have 53 different track effects types to play with. Up to four effects can be used simultaneously for each loop section, offering practically unlimited effects potential without having to integrate external effects processors.

Complete performance solution

With 99 memory slots — each containing six phrase tracks, custom effects and playback settings, control assignments, and other customizations — the RC-600 Loop Station has the storage you need to load up for a performance. The RC-600 also offers advanced connectivity for integrating with larger setups. MIDI I/O is ready to keep your loops sync’d with a DAW or a MIDI sequencer; a pair of external control jacks — supporting two footswitches or one expression pedal each — further expand your ability to control the RC-600 remotely. BOSS knows that the needs of loop artists vary widely, which is why the RC-600 packs the connectivity and control options required to integrate with practically any type of live performance or studio workflow.

Reviews

A very very in depth looper with almost every feature that can be asked for.
Acquired the Boss RC-600 recently after the old Boomerang totally crapped the bed for good. Was a bit intimidating to get into but I'm now getting familiar with some of it's functionality. Great that I can have a long USB cable connecting it to my PC where I can treat the Boss looper like an external harddrive and keep backups always. So 13 hours of total record time in 99 memory slots each with 6 tracks, but more so unlimited with that USB feature. Pretty awesome. I share it with a brother so it's easy enough to completely back up data and wave folders to PC harddrives and factory reset at any time to play hot potato with it. A very very in depth looper with almost every feature that can be asked for.
Fantastic and powerful looper.
The power of this looper is incredible if you are willing to spend the time to learn its capabilities. I studied the manual (which is too brief) and the parameter doc extensively before I even received the box - it was not enough.

Once I received the looper I was able to begin using it immediately, but the power and customization that I expected was not there until after several weeks of using and studying it. To use this looper to its fullest, a lot of time and effort must be put into it.

Every minute I put into learning this machine was worth it in the long run. Being able to customize the looping, effects, and controls to my benefit is where this looper shines. Having six tracks and 99 memories fulfills all of my looping needs.

PROS:

Extremely powerful once you get to know it.

All buttons and knobs can be customized which in my opinion takes this looper to the next level.

Rugged build.

Tempo synchronization and quantizing is superb.

Lots of flexibility with inputs and outputs.

IF NOT bug free - then extremely close. I have not encountered any bugs yet - only what turned out to be user errors (which is very easy to do given the complexity).

Excellent sound reproduction.

Lot's of effects - both input effects and assigned to tracks. Four effect banks enable me to group up to four effects together prior to recording so that I can plan my rhythm, lead, and bass effects prior to looping.

Relatively intuitive menus. A few areas could be improved but overall the organization (system, memory, and loop) makes sense.

Worth the cost for what you get (assuming you dedicate the time).

CONS:

High learning curve for those with limited time.

Deep menu diving for effects. The effect settings need to be set in advance before any performance.

Complexity makes it easy to mistake a user error for a bug. Although I am using the latest firmware version, I caught myself mistaking my user errors for bugs on several occasions. I have yet to find a true bug in the software.

SUMMARY:

Spend the time to learn this looper and you will be rewarded with great sound and extensive capabilities. I highly recommend this looper to anyone willing to spend the time to learn it.
Boss RC 600.. Looper

I bought my RC 600 about a year and a half ago.. it has changed the way I look at music the way they play everything.. I also picked up a keyboard plugged it into it too.. there is a learning curve to it no doubt about that. But once you learn.... There is no limit to what you can do with this la- machine-infinity and beyond!!!.. thank God for this machine.. and the sound of it is unbelievable.. the drums really sound like drums.. and it's numerous effects for the guitar , or microphone.. I'm still learning!!!!!!!rock on

Music background: I am a self-taught musician.. I started on the harmonica when I was five drums when I was ate guitar when I was 12 well actually the first thing was piano we had one when I was really young. I got a bass guitar I play the fiddle a little bit, in the past
Boss RC 600.. Looper
I've had this looper for about a year now maybe maybe less but I am totally satisfied with it it took a while to learn I'm still learning but I I'm a multi instrumentalist so I need something that I can jam with this is the unit.. every track has a click with it you have to add the drums you make up your drums or you hit automatic and it comes in after you can hit you can set it to 12 bars for bars, you can adjust the volume it has a mixer in it it's really an unbelievable thing it's it has changed my life and the way I look and play music unbelievable I also use it with the rc 500, and a ve 22 vocal harmonizer from boss is awesome too, sometimes I use the RC 500 drums along with the RC 600 drums set the temple the same and it gives you like an unbelievable kind of chorus kind of a thing if you wanted it like that it's really unlimited to your own imagination to where you want to go with it.. but it really sounds good man and I have the old software.. I like it so much I think I'm going to buy a new one but with the new software the latest because sometimes when you record something and then you start slowing down the tempo it starts getting wobbly sounding . Unlike the RC 2 the little stomp box, that when you slow down the temple everything still sounds pissa, in other words it doesn't get wobbly I don't know what it is maybe it's the old software but I think they fixed it but that's the only glitch I saw.. but I highly recommend this machine you will love it!!!!!!!!!! I have jammed countless numerous hours.. and it has a headphone jack so you can be quiet in an apartment
Very solid unit
This is the first looper that I've used that works the way I do. Granted, anyone thinking that they will get the full experience by pulling it out of the box and jamming would be fooling themselves. Do your research before purchasing. There are a TON of videos out there.

I did my research, I made a (very long) list of things I wanted to accomplish, as well as how I wanted my setup to work. I've got two configurations that I leverage with it. One is an acoustic variant where I paired a TC Helicon Play Acoustic. I use the built-in effects for laying bass lines and other effects. It works great.

For the other setup, I use an electric guitar and a Line 6 Helix. There is SO much you can do, and it's a blast. I just added a Yamaha FGDP-50 for drums -- as I want the organic feel of a full performance and not the built-in drums.

This all takes work. I literally spent a full week just learning the device and practicing the menu navigation so I knew where they hid all of the effects and understood how to apply them. This takes a LOT of time. The videos may not do it justice. But the work is well worth it. The result of my performances probably outweights my actual talent, thanks in a large part to this device. If you're able to commit the time to learn all the ins and outs, this is a great device. If you want something simple, this may not be the device for you, and there are other options out there for that.
Music background: I'm a live-long hobbyist musician who had to take an engineering job to pay for my addiction. My group plays mostly small concerts and corporate gigs, and I occasionally play smaller intimate acoustic gigs for musical variety. I enjoy playing, and I'm p
