RAW — Reimagined
Rob Papen’s RAW 2 virtual synthesizer includes all the features you surely raved about in the original RAW synthesizer plug-in and offers an even deeper exploration into the world of unique and raucous synth sounds. RAW 2 still sports the dual oscillators, each with its own X/Y fields for phase-distorting waveforms, and the ability to create your own waveforms and use them as LFOs for one-of-a-kind wobbles ideal for dubstep, house, and other electronic music. It also includes the classic Rob Papen filters along with EQ, Waveshaper, Distortion, and LoFi; premium Chorus, Flanger, Stereo Delay, and HQ Reverb FX for expansive sound manipulation; and a 32-step Arpeggiator/Sequencer. But to further bolster creative freedom, RAW 2 borrows a page from another Rob Papen plug-in, BIT 2, and includes Ribbon Controller, a MIDI-compatible feature new to the RAW synth that Sweetwater producers say allows for real-time adjustments and tempo-based spring-back. Lastly, it wouldn’t be RAW if it didn’t include a whole slew of stirring presets crafted by some of the biggest DJs and producers in electronic music — an excellent jumping-off point for beginners and seasoned synth pros alike. Expanding upon the offering of the original RAW, RAW 2 packs a serious punch and delivers endless hours of inspiration.
