Two-voice Harmony Generator with Expressive Potential

The TC Electronic Quintessence harmony pedal is capable of some serious sonic movement. It generates intelligent two-voice harmonies over your playing, with full creative control offered by TC's TonePrint app for creating your own custom settings. And that's just the start. Equipped with a MASH expressive footswitch, you can bend the harmony voices up or down in real-time for subtle or extreme effects. And its analog-dry-through signal path ensures your core tone maintains its sonic integrity. Whether you're chasing classic harmonized guitar tones, or the potential to create something completely new, check out the TC Electronic Quintessence harmony generator.

Pressure-sensitive MASH footswitch for expression

Using the pressure-sensitive MASH footswitch on Quintessence, you can easily bend harmonized notes up or down to the next interval. And you can set this footswitch to operate either in latching or momentary switching modes, depending on your playing preferences.

Create your own presets with TonePrint

Use the TonePrint Editor software to create your own custom harmony effects for Quintessence. Use the TonePrint app to beam them directly to your pedal, or to browse for TonePrints created by pro guitarists. Lots of guitarists at Sweetwater have become hooked on TonePrint because it's the gift that keeps on giving.

Selectable Buffered or True Bypass switching

Got a lot of true bypass pedals on your pedalboard? Set the Quintessence pedal to Buffered switching mode to help maintain your signal level, especially if you're using long cables. Already have buffers on your pedalboard? You can switch Quintessence over to True Bypass switching mode if you prefer. Either way, its analog-dry-through signal path means your core dry guitar tone will remain completely untouched, even when using extreme settings on Quintessence.

TC Electronic Quintessence Harmony Generator Pedal Features:

  • Two-voice harmony effects pedal for guitar
  • Pressure-sensitive MASH footswitch for real-time expressive control over harmonized notes
  • Create your own custom effects with TonePrint Editor software (Mac, PC, iPad)
  • Beam TonePrint presets directly to the pedal with your smartphone with the TonePrint App
  • Switchable Buffered/True Bypass switching
  • Choose from Momentary or Latching switch operation
  • Analog-dry-through signal path leaves your core guitar tone untouched

Reviews

Extremely happy with TC Electronic Quintessence
I've been a TC fan for over 30 years going back to their groundbreaking chorus pedal to the monster TC 2290 which got me through thousands of miles of playing. looking forward to the next thousand with the Quintessence. I've also decided that Sweetwater is the only dealer I trust for great service and top notch gear. I've shopped the big city guys and even managed a MI chain store as well as worked for a major guitar company in California. Sweetwater tops them all. I'll always turn to them first.

Great petal
The Quintessence Harmony is great. I went to Apple and got a C converter so I can plug my petal into my iPad Pro. I connect to the Tone print app by TC Electronics. It is very easy to use. I like the 3rd up setting. It makes my song I wrote much more evil sounding. Fun to use easy to apply. I Recommend it

This is the one !
Throughout my years of being a musician I have wanted to play double lead or harmony if you will. Played in several bands but, there never was another musician that could accomplish double lead harmony. I tried the digitech harmony man (twice). Boss ps6 (twice). Behringer us600, these were all pretty darn good pedals but, just didn't take me where I wanted to go. I was reading a review here on Sweetwater and, John Bollinger's you tube video review was mentioned. So I checked it out and, WOW! that was it! I knew right then and there that was my dream pedal.
A true pure harmony pedal strictly made for that purpose. If you have any knowledge and, experience in playing this pedal is not difficult to dial in the sounds you're looking for. Set the key, harmony mode, set the mix, set the pitch, play and enjoy! I had Duane Allman's Rambling Man going in less than a couple of minutes! Awesome Sound! This pedal has some great things built into it that I'll probably never use but, that's cool. All I wanted was Great sounding harmony and, it lives right here! I am very impressed with TC Electronics, I have some TC Helicon pedals that are equally Great, not sure if there is any connection but, I wouldn't be surprised if there is.
If you're looking for Great Harmony Sound here it is, this is the one!

Great tool for the pedal board
I play in a hard rock and classic metal cover band. I am the only guitar player in the band, and we don't have a keyboard player. We realized a harmonizer would help for certain songs.

When we used it for Queen and a Styx song, we realized this more than did the trick. I also play Iron Maiden, so I used it there as well.

We were doing a Rival Sons song, where Holiday uses a 12 string. I experimented with the Quintessence to use a doubling effect, and we were surprised how much better it sounded with the Quintessence on.

I have a TC Electronic Chorus, Delay, and Reverb on my board as well. Great pedals at a fair price.

Harmonizing your playing
I was looking for a tool that could easily harmonize lead lines. Surprisingly, I did not see a large variety of pedals specifically made for this. TC Electronics makes great quality pedals and this did not disappoint. The price was reasonable. The tracking was impeccable even in bends. The controls were straightforward if you have a basic understanding of modes and scales. Providing this control overcomes tracking problems of of other similar pedals that change pitch. The best pedals not only function well, they spark creativity. This does that.
