Quantum Leaps Forward for Creator-focused Home Recording

As home recording technologies advance, so do the creative possibilities of artists and content creators of every size or style. PreSonus’s Quantum ES 4 distills three decades of aural innovation into a powerful, flexible audio interface, primed for performance with unrivaled 24-bit/192kHz resolution. Its 4-channel design includes a quartet of mic/line inputs, as well as dual dedicated guitar inputs co-designed with Fender. Recording experts at Sweetwater are enamored by the interface’s masterful mix of ergonomics and sleek aesthetics, providing real-time LED feedback alongside a streamlined, user-friendly interface. Surface controls are optimized to maximize detail and control, crafted with a satisfying tactility to seamlessly dial in your setup. With versatile recording tools, custom-built low-latency drivers, robust analog mic preamps, and MIDI capabilities, the Quantum ES 4 stands to upgrade any studio setup with uncompromising fidelity and control.

State-of-the-art sound and style

Beneath its elegant form factor, the Quantum ES 4 contains an armada of premium recording tech. Custom designed low-latency drivers are complemented by high-caliber converters to maximize clarity and signal preservation, ensuring that audio is crystal clear and brimming with detail from input to playback. For its pair of combination mic/line jacks, PreSonus debuted their next-gen MAX-HD preamps, capable of up to +75dB of gain across a formidable 20Hz–20kHz range, resulting in unmatched transparency and clarity via digitally-attenuated analog character. With impressive preamp gain, phantom power, and further controls, the flexible interface seamlessly accommodates a diverse array of microphone styles and vocal deliveries for live, studio, and broadcast excellence. What’s more, the Quantum ES 4’s Auto Gain capability dials in the optimum gain levels for microphone and instrument signals, teeing you up for the perfect take every time.

Elegant interfacing with Fender-designed finesse

Through a collaborative effort with Fender, the Quantum ES 4 was engineered to facilitate recording for virtually any style and environment, including a pair of front-mounted instrument inputs and headphone output, providing guitarists and bassists with pain-free plug-and-play accessibility. Onboard LEDs give users color-coded real-time feedback through a thoughtfully-arranged interface, intentionally designed to deliver relevant details without distraction. To expand the interface’s interoperative potential, the Quantum ES 4 features a 3.5-millimeter MIDI I/O, while its balanced stereo output jacks are DC-coupled, opening the possibility of sending CV signals to compatible modules, synthesizers, effects units, or pedals. Plus, the Quantum ES 4 includes a built-in Loopback capability, making quick work of crafting monitor or streaming mixes.

Reviews

EZ PZ
Another great interface from Presonus! Super easy to set up and use. I love the 2 guitar inputs in the front. The blue lights fit perfect in my studio due to all the blue LED lights. Studio B. The B stands for blue. I live the 2 headphone jacks in the front as well. You can switch between headphones and main monitor speakers at the press of a button. Main color is blue. Headphones are green.
Thanks to my sales engineer Eric Rojas for the professional expertise and suggestion of this interface.

ES 4 UBS-C Audio Interface
This audio interface that I bought from Sweetwater is just what I needed for my home studio. Really does make a difference when one has the right equipment. Have always selected Sweetwater for all my equipment over the years and I recommend them highly.

Perfect Plug and Play with Studio One and Outboard gear
After multiple failed attempts with unreliable and complicated interfaces the Quantum is breath of fresh air. Plug and play. routed Output 3 into my daisy chained Presonus Studio Channel into an SPL Vitalyzer back into Input 3. Works perfect with signal mix control using the Universal Control app. Also in studio one, you can easily create i/o slots for Channels 3 and use the hardware as a VST. Brilliant.
Turning Out To Be All I Need
Bought this as a compliment/more mobile sibling to an old 003+ rack mount unit. I have evolved into more solo/duo acoustic sessions versus larger band stuff. The ES4 is a workhorse for that. The preamps are excellent. I love the headphones set up and sound quality is a huge step up for me. Wish I had done this sooner!

Sweetwater and PreSonus go way back, and that makes a lot of sense. Like Sweetwater, PreSonus is largely staffed by active musicians, songwriters, live sound techs, and engineers, and like Sweetwater, their culture shows up in everything they do. Early on, PreSonus broke ground by offering super-affordable audio interfaces that brought quality recording to home studio engineers everywhere. In the following years, we've been with them as they introduced a powerful, artist-friendly DAW, groundbreaking digital mixers, and more - all products we at Sweetwater use ourselves. One thing that's never changed, even as PreSonus has branched out into new territory, is that they've always done everything possible to provide you with the best value, and we're proud to stand by their products.
