D16 Group’s PunchBox 2 gives you dedicated control over your kick drum design, letting you build and shape the sound anchoring your tracks. The dynamic plugin uses four parallel generators that layer together to create the final sound from the ground up. Three of those generators serve as sample-based layers for the supporting elements, while the main Kick generator drives the core of the sound across five modes: Sample, 909, 808, 606, and Wavetable. A built-in FX rack handles shaping and finalizing in the same window, while an enormous factory library puts production-ready material at your fingertips from the moment you load it. Covering everything from faithfully modeled classics to synthetic, textured sounds, PunchBox 2 brings an endless well of low-end thumps to your production toolbox.

PunchBox 2’s layered customization offers kicks that adapt to your creative ambitions, making it a staple in countless Sweetwater production workflows. Each of PunchBox 2’s four generators can run independently, route through the FX rack, and respond to MIDI through Keytrack and Velocity, giving you complete control over every element of the sound at every stage. Additionally, an Advanced Editor combines real-time waveform preview and multi-stage envelopes into a single workflow, allowing you to monitor each generator and the final output as you precisely shape parameters over time. The built-in FX rack rounds it out with bitcrusher, distortion, filter, vintage EQ, Mono Bass, limiter, and soft clip, all tied together by a patchbay for flexible routing. All this means you can take a kick from raw idea to finished, mix-ready foundation without ever leaving the plugin.
