Ultra-fat Vintage Mono Synth Classic
Though often regarded as the monophonic version of Roland’s iconic Jupiter-8 analog synthesizer, the Roland Promars Compuphonic Synthesizer was an analog beast in its own right. With an ultra-fat sound owing to its dual-VCO design and twin set of sub-oscillators, the Roland Promars produced a dense and dimensional unison chorusing effect ideal for gristly bass lines and chewy drones. The “Compuphonic” designation referred to Promars microprocessor control, a cutting-edge feature of its time that allowed users to access ten factory presets —including bass, strings, piano, brass, voice, and more — and gave them the ability to save up to ten user presets. A faithful reproduction of the original unit, the Roland Promars software synthesizer includes all of the original presets, but there are no constraints on the number of patches you can create and store. Roland also expanded on the legacy Promars, increasing the range of the VCOs, adding a random setting to the LFO, and offering full-range control over the pulse width and noise sections. The Roland Promars is highly-coveted in synth circles — it’s a favorite of synthesists at Sweetwater —and, once you fire it up and hear its inimitably rich analog tone, you’ll understand why!

Roland Legendary Series
The Roland Legendary Series of software synthesizers comprises a formidable lineup of classic analog and digital synths. From Roland’s earliest forays into synthesis, including the System-100 semi-modular mono synth, to their legendary TR-808 and TR-909 rhythm composers and groundbreaking digital synthesizers, such as the JV-1080, the Roland Legendary Series includes a pantheon of synth titans. Using state-of-the-art Analog and Digital Circuit Behavior technologies, Roland has captured the essence of their legacy synths. With the original hardware versions becoming ever rarer and commanding exorbitant prices on the collectors’ market, fewer and fewer people will ever lay their hands on a real Juno-106, Jupiter-8, or any of these icons. But, with the Roland Legendary Series, you can own them all, in a convenient and affordable software format. Pining for that legendary Roland sound? Then go straight to the source with Roland’s Legendary Series of software synthesizers.
