More Than Full-featured, in a Compact Design

The Traveler Guitar Pro-Series Mod-X solidbody electric guitar will be your favorite travel companion. Compact enough to fit into tight spaces while on the road, the Mod-X is still a full-scale electric guitar. Sweetwater guitarists know there's often a compromise with travel-sized guitars, but that's not so with the Pro-Series Mod-X. With its dual-blade humbucking pickup with coil tap and bridge-mounted piezo pickup, nothing's missing from the Mod-X. In fact, there are a lot of additions to this guitar, making sure the Pro-Series Mod-X has it all.

Great sustain through its 1-piece maple body design

The running theme with the Traveler Guitars Pro-Series Mod-X electric guitars is that there are no compromises. That, of course, is also the case with the construction and materials of the guitar's body. The Pro-Series Mod-X is built from a single piece of eastern American hard maple, which is known for its cutting tone and incredible sustain. And, even though you get the benefits of a maple body, the Pro-Series Mod-X comes in at just over 4 lbs.

Compact design with a full 24.75-inch scale

This solidbody electric guitar truly doesn't know how small it is. Even though it's easily streamlined enough to travel with you in even the most cramped situations, the Pro-Series Mod-X carries a full 24.75-inch scale length. You won't have to worry about trying to adjust to the smaller feel or narrower fret spacing that's often a concern with similar designs. Add to that the detachable arm and leg rests, and you won't even know you're playing such a compact instrument. You'll feel right at home with the Pro-Series Mod-X's full-size design.

Humbucking pickup, coil tap, and a piezo pickup offers tonal diversity

Tonally, you'll be left wanting absolutely nothing. Traveler Guitar's Pro-Series Mod-X electric guitar is ready to sing. It features a dual-blade humbucking pickup outfitted with a coil tap function for a powerful sound, or for crystal clear single-coil tones. You can also blend in the bridge mounted piezo pickup, giving you full-sounding acoustic tones. There are simply no tonal compromises to be had with this professional-sounding instrument. From rock to country, pop to prog, this insanely comfortable guitar can do it all.

Traveler Guitar Pro-Series Mod-X Electric Guitar Features:

  • Compact design with a full 24.75-inch scale length
  • Dual-coil humbucking pickup with coil-tap for many tonal options
  • Acoustic sounds via a piezo bridge pickup
  • Detachable arm and leg rests for comfort while playing
  • Headless design that works with any standard electric guitar strings
  • Gig bag included

Reviews

Even better than expected!
I've had a Yamaha Silent Guitar for many years and it is a really good guitar, but definitely an acoustic guitar. I wanted a travel electric guitar and the Mod-X is perfect. First, it's really small in the gig bag, significantly smaller than the Yamaha. It's a full 24.75" scale length though. It's got humbucker, single coil, and piezo sounds. It's really comfortable to play sitting back on the couch, much more so than a full size guitar. So far I've only used it with the Spark Go with ear buds (which I also highly recommend) and it sounds fantastic! Between the Mod-X and the Spark Go you've got a complete travel rig par excellence, but it's going to see plenty of service at home too. Home run by Traveler!

Don't drive your neighbors batty!
This guitar - really much more than that - is everything it is described as being in the various videos. It's great for travel due to the smaller size when "stowed'; but the one feature I like best is that you can practice pretty much silently. With the add on of the plug for use with headphones (TGA-1E), you can hear what you are playing - but no one else can. Since I am new to guitar playing and live in an apartment, this lets me practice without driving the neighbors batty!

Great customer service and experience
This was my second time ordering from Sweetwater and both times the level of service and help was exceptional. I will definitely be ordering again from Sweetwater in the future.
A great travel guitar
I recently found myself having to do a lot more business travel for work, so I bought this guitar to help the trips be a little better. Airports all accepted it as a hand carry item. This is a great way to kill time between flights. I tried it with the Boss Waza-Air system and some in-ear Behringer headphones and can say the sound quality and noise isolation of the over-the-ear Boss headphones is a lot better (and costs a lot more).

The guitar is a breeze to play and the pickups sound good. I subtracted one star for a few shortcomings that are not critical. I wish the arm rest had a sloped edge and some belly carve like a strat. That pointy end pokes me right in the ribs. I'll probably take a belt sander to it and do some after-market shaping. The fragility of the instrument in the bag is another issue. I already bent one of the thumb screws. (Probably my own fault. I store them screwed into the holes and it must have got bumped). The 3 way switches look a little bit fragile and in the stow position there's not much protecting them from the big bad world.

If I did it over again I might get the EG-1 Traveler instead. It requires less kit-assembly work to start playing and looks a big more robust in the bag. That said, the Pro-Seris Mod-X is tons of fun and I'll be taking it on all my trips.
PRO SERIES MOD X
Getting used to it, a lot different from what I'm used to. Stays in tune. Harmonics are right on Accousticly I wish it was a little louder. Thank you for the help during purchases.
