Polydactyl Versio’s Latin etymology can be understood as “versatile toes,” which could be interpreted in several fitting ways for this sound-shaping module. Its core functions revolve around a 3-band processing architecture, with two parameters attached to each band. Up top, Ceiling controls gradually increase the input signal level in each respective band, getting successively more aggressive in its limiting. Its counterpart, Room, handles dimensional control with bipolar knobs: expanding and compressing the signal when left and right of the noon position, respectively. What’s more, you can adjust the noise gate’s behavior from none to a little to a whole lot via its 3-way selector.
For added processing possibilities, this module is outfitted with a saturation control. Interestingly, saturation isn’t just applied to the master mix, but simultaneously to each band, allowing for nuanced interplay between itself and the pair of Room and Ceiling adjustments. Moreover, you’re not confined to a single arrangement of the 3-band structure.
