The Pigtronix Philosopher's Rock gives you premium-quality compression, sustain, and distortion - collectively, mother's milk to electric guitar tone - in a compact stompbox with just two knobs (and a little chromium switch). igtronix Philosopher's Rock

Sounds great, adds some nice compression magic to the gear I work with. I decided that every guitarist should have a little compressor in their chain after getting this. The Volume pedal does exactly what it says. The sustain pedal changes the compression "oomph". Different ears, guitars and amps will different different magic spots for that control. The grit switch is something else completely. It adds a relentless amount of dirt, turns the pedal into a beast. It's really fun, though it might be a little less useful if you're in a softer band. My bassist gave me a positive comment and liked the change he noticed after I went to my pedal for a second before a solo.

NICE SURPRISE, This is a great little pedal, powerful sustain...clean drive......You must plug this in does not run on batteries..this makes to much noise..I have to buy a noise gate....

I've only tried for a couple of hours through a really small fender practice amd and a Marshall. Unbelievable sounds at any volume, almost too easy to use. I know I'm gonna love this thing more as I go long. Thanks for the reference. Robert...You rock Ronnie

Within hours of unboxing this pedal I wrote a new piece, based solely on the Grit and maxed out sustain. I was looking for something to add just a tough of honey, and wound up with a whole hive.

Great Pedal! Sustain and mild overdrive all in one. I use small amps like Princeton Reverb on "7". This pedal gives me just the right amount of extra "UMPF". It has replaced my Ibanez TSP because of the better sustain. Great with single coils. Used for blues with a telecaster. I wish you could use a battery thhough.

The Pigtronix Philosopher's Rock is a "must have" for my pedal board. I use it first-in-line as a solid sustain and tone platform for my sound. It has a huge range of compression that goes from funk to country; and can sustain all day without killing tone. If I'm really feeling rude, I flick on the grit switch and push my signal chain into high gear. It has a sweet, yet smooth grit that pushes the front end of a tube amp into high-gear.
