Seagull's quest for tone gives you a better playing and sounding guitar

Robert Godin, owner of Seagull Guitars, has never been satisfied with good enough. His tireless search for the better guitar has created quite a few innovations that go into every guitar model that Seagull makes. Every Performer Cutaway Mini Jumbo Flame Maple QI's top is pressure tested for rigidity and stiffness to ensure maximum harmonic vibration. The unique compound-curved top adds structural integrity to the guitar and allows for thinner bracing. Take it from the Sweetwater crew - the Performer Cutaway Mini Jumbo Flame Maple QI acoustic will give you years of great performance.

Innovative neck construction and mounting delivers killer playability and tone

The attention and care given to each Seagull shows in their looks, playability, and tone. Seagull has also taken extra care to ensure that the Performer Cutaway Mini Jumbo Flame Maple QI's neck helps create an amazing guitar experience. An acoustic guitar's neck is more than just a fretboard used for playing, it also creates the guitar's tone. Seagull's Integrated Set Neck gives your guitar the sound you want and the stability you need in a performing guitar. This system provides stable and consistent action that also reduces warping and twisting. Thanks to this integrated system, the Performer Cutaway Mini Jumbo Flame Maple QI's neck pitch is perfectly set. If it's too far forward the instrument will sound muddy, or if it's too far back the guitar will sound tinny. Seagull's design assures optimized sound and playability with these and other innovations found in the entire Seagull line.

Handcrafted in Canada for more than a quarter of a century

For over 25 years, Seagull guitars have been handcrafted in the small village of La Patrie in eastern Quebec. About half of the population works creating these exquisite guitars. All of the guitars in the Seagull line are made in Canada from the S6 Original models to the Maritime models to the top-of-the-line Artist series guitar. Most of the tonewoods are also harvested from Canadian forests. You'll love the attention to detail, the quality tonewoods, and Seagull's commitment to make the best guitar possible. incredible buy

First - a bit about me. Been playing for 35 years, both electric and acoustic, 75% acoustic. The nicest guitar I have owned is a Gibson songwriter deluxe studio (sold it), and I currently play a Taylor 214e deluxe. So why buy the Seagull? There's a lot to like about the Godin company, so for starters I appreciate how they build guitars, the materials they use, and that they price their instruments so reasonably. Now, about this guitar - it's aesthetically flawless - the maple is gorgeous, the binding and rosette beautiful, the fretboard feels amazing. Great gloss finish. The sound is what really sold me - as it should be. After all, at the end of the day, when you close your eyes you want to hear something that captures the height of your ability and improves your playing. This guitar does that. I bought this guitar because I wanted to have that maple sound at home. I found, though, that this guitar has more range than what i have read about maple guitars in general. Usually you hear "maple has great midrange, not much low or high end or sustain, so it's great for strumming, but that's it." I disagree. This guitar sounds great strumming, but has great sustain and clarity of tone fingerpicking. This guitar will not have the resonance of the bass notes when compared to a rosewood back and sides dreadnaught - but it's still gives you so much more than a typical maple guitar. I found it had more volume and higher end clarity and sustain than my Taylor. I highly recommend this guitar for all of these reasons - but there's one more. Now that I own it, and it's in my hands, and I can see it and play it and be with it up close. If I didn't know the price, after playing it I'd guess this was a an $ guitar at least. It's a STEAL at this price, and that's another reason I really like Godin. They could charge much more for their work than they do. If you have never bought from Sweetwater before - do it. I have purchased from other retailers over the years, but this is my second purchase from Sweetwater, and I'll never buy anywhere else again. fantastic customer care. Put it this way, even if all else was the same (price, shipping time, etc.) I know... I KNOW when I get a guitar from Sweetwater, someone at the store has gone over my guitar, and it will come to me ready to play. I can't say that about any other shop.

Excellent Performers Guitar

Every guitar has its own sound. I own Seagulls and Martins and have no negative comments for either. This guitar plays fantastic, and sounds good through every different amp or pa I play through. It is very bright so it works great for playing at low volumes. I prefer this Seagull over several of the mid-level Taylors I have played.

Long Term Use Report

I'm a hack that loves to noodle around on the piano and guitar. I've had my Seagull Performer CW MJ for about 18-20 months. And I still love it. A lot. In previous years, I've played/owned acoustic guitars from Ovation and Yamaha, and while they were wonderful, the Seagull just has a soul about it. Play it quietlly, assertively or anything in between and it delivers. I have smallish hands so the wider nut width is a godsend.I have to bend and reach a bit more and on other guitars, my finger tips would confound each other thus creating buzz and incomplete notes, especially with barre chords. The action is second to none IMHO. It stays in tune and as most know it's a looker too. This one's a keeper.

I am loving it!

I own several guitars and this is the latest. I am not a very talented guitarist as I spend the majority of my time as a bass player. I am however quite knowledgeable about the quality, tone and playability of guitars. This Seagull provides all three of these feature in an affordable well built instrument. You won't be disappointed in my opinion.
Music background: Semi-pro I guess you could say. On stage I am a bassist only.

Long Term Use

I have owned this guitar for a little over two years and have always loved the sound of this guitar as it is different from any other guitar I own. I would say that this guitar sits in a class of its own. But have quickly realized that sound is not everything, especially when you are dealing with a guitar with technology. The pre amp tuner stopped working and the Q1 electronics package that came with my guitar is obsolete. Now, I have a pre amp that does not work and my tuner is a clip-on. What s bummer.
