Reviews

Gibson TP-6 Fine Tuner Tailpiece. Meh.
Looks great on my Gibson SG, but unfortunately does not work all that well in its advertised role, which is fine tuning. IMHO, the adjustment screws need to have a considerably higher tuning ratio, as they seem to be no better than the stock machine heads themselves. If you're like me, and mainly purchased it because it looks freaking awesome, I say go for it! If you'd like to buy it to use it for its intended/advertised function, you may consider looking elsewhere. Perhaps something like the Leo Quan "badass bridge" with the fine tuner add on, may actually be the better choice, but YMMV because I've not tried the Leo Quan. In summary, if you like the looks of it, buy it…if you want it for it's actual fine-tuning ability, this may not be the best choice.

I love it!
First, I should say I purchased this for an Epiphone Les Paul. I thought I could just change out the tailpiece, but I noticed the studs for the Gibson TP-6 tailpiece were a larger spacing. I was going to use the supplied Gibson studs to work with the TP-6 tailpiece, but they were a different thread pitch, so now the Epiphone inserts needed to be replaced. But then I noticed the Gibson inserts were a larger diameter. I didn't want to drill larger holes in the body and risk damaging it, so I decided to try using the correct pitch tap and change the threads in the Epiphone inserts. I was very careful and that was successful! So, I could then use the Gibson posts and tailpiece in the Epiphone inserts. Just a heads up if you buy this for an Epiphone!
That said, once installed, I love the TP-6! It is so much easier and faster to fine tune on the tailpiece, and the guitar seems to stay in tune better.

Works great
Put this on a Les Paul classic. G used to go out of tune easy. Not no more. Stays in tune a lot better. Great update on that alone.
Music background: Sang bass for The Bee Gees.

An incredible piece of machinery! Where have you been all my life! Not only does it function properly and looks cool.. it increases tuning stability by just being there! Zero installation difficulty.. Just popped it on. Thank you Sweetwater!

AWESOME TAIL PIECE. Now my Les Paul will stay in tune and definitely has better intonation.
