So what, exactly, are all of these instruments capable of? Well, let's start with Hybrid — it's a premium RTAS software synthesizer for Pro Tools systems that combines the warmth of legendary analog synths from the '70s with a full range of 21st-century analog and digital capabilities. The result is the best of both worlds — a virtual instrument with a comprehensive set of precisely adjustable parameters that can sound like the synths you remember or like something no one has ever heard before. It's a customer favorite.
Next up is Strike. The antithesis of a drum looping tool, Strike is an intelligent RTAS instrument that simulates a real, skilled drummer with a well-miked kit in a great-sounding room. Strike lets you produce nuanced performances with a precision that easily eclipses conventional sampling and MIDI applications. Plus this latest version of strike includes even more drum kits, instruments, and styles, so you've got the right sound for any project that gets thrown your way.
Now on to Structure — the first professional RTAS sampler designed and optimized specifically for Pro Tools. Structure boasts a 128-patch multi-timbral universal sound engine with support for up to 8-channel interleaved samples with sample playback available via RAM or disk streaming. To get you started, Structure ships with a sample library from East West, plus Structure supports drag-and-drop sample import within Pro Tools.
What's the story on Velvet? This popular virtual instrument faithfully reproduces the sound and feel of classic Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos and packages it nicely in an easy-to-use graphic interface. There are over 100 presets included, plus you can easily tweak sounds with controls for overall timbre, dynamic response, and velocity curve of each model, for a range of classic and contemporary electric piano sounds. Velvet gives you a ton of built-in processors to tailor the sound to your desires with a preamp featuring tube overdrive, compression, and 3-band EQ, along with distortion, wah/filter, modulation, and Echoplex delay. The electric piano was instrumental to the sound of rock n' roll in the '50s and '60s, and Velvet puts it in the hands of Pro Tools users at a fraction of the cost of a vintage Wurlitzer or Rhodes.
And the newest member of the Digidesign virtual instrument lineup... Transfuser. If you're writing music with Pro Tools, be sure to let Digidesign's Transfuser take your music to the next level — it's a loop-based, groove-creation powerhouse that's ideal for inspiring new music. Everything about Transfuser was designed to help you create songs in real-time — there are innovative loop randomization features, on-the-fly effects, and tons of loops to help you get started. Plus, Transfuser makes it easy to integrate and modify the loop libraries you already have. It's ideal for electronic, hip-hop, dance music production, and all things "loop."
