Upgrade to Pro Tools 7.2!
Pro Tools 7.2 Software: Power to Create
With Pro Tools 7.2, Pro Tools continues to be the de facto standard DAW for recording and mixing, with features that just make sense from a production and workflow standpoint. Most of us would be hard pressed to think of any improvements, but Digidesign has outdone themselves with Pro Tools 7.2, by adding post-production oriented features designed to boost the power and speed of post-production facilities running Pro Tools|HD or ICON systems. Among the performance enhancements are expanded integrated video capabilities including better video options, the ability to work with multiple video clips and playlists, and bouncing edited files to QuickTime. New mixing, automation, and multi-channel audio options make Pro Tools 7.2 stand out as a significant upgrade. Whether you work in music or post, you need Pro Tools HD 7.2 software. While Pro Tools HD 7.2 introduces new revolutionary workflows, many of its features were designed in response to customer feedback and requests. With a dramatically enhanced feature set, including the industry's most comprehensive automation package, extended video capabilities, new workflows with multi-channel field recorders, built-in dubber functionality and more professional metering plug-in options, Pro Tools HD 7.2 is an essential upgrade for your Pro Tools|HD system or ICON integrated console.

More Compositional Tools
Take advantage of new Instrument Tracks for improved integration with virtual instruments and MIDI sound modules. Work with REX and ACID files - two of the most popular formats for loops and samples. Group any combination of audio and MIDI regions together to quickly build arrangements. Use new region looping capabilities to assemble grooves or fill time between video cues. Apply groove input quantization to alter the feel of MIDI tracks as you record. With these and many more features, Pro Tools 7.2 software is what composers have been waiting for.
Real-time Tweaking Encouraged
Experiment more freely with MIDI tracks using new real-time MIDI processing capabilities. Capitalize on mirrored MIDI editing to automatically alter copies of MIDI regions throughout a session. Use the new Zoom Toggle button to quickly enter an editor view mode for easy editing of audio and MIDI. Choose the new Link Track and Edit Selection option to apply track-level commands across multiple tracks at the same time. In addition to these features, nearly every MIDI operation window includes enhancements, making it faster and easier to work with MIDI than ever before.
Greater Mixing Power and Flexibility
Enhanced support for multi-processor computers and improvements to the RTAS environment in Pro Tools 7.2 software increase plug-in counts up to 150% on dual-processor computers. In many cases, you'll be able to run more than twice as many RTAS plug-ins and virtual instruments on your sessions. (Click here for more information on RTAS performance improvements.) Additional software optimizations provide a faster, more responsive, and more powerful workstation. Plus, support for RTAS processing plug-ins on Aux Inputs and Master Faders (a new feature for Pro Tools|HD systems) enhances compatibility between Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools LE, and Pro Tools M-Powered systems.
Even Easier to Use
Even with all of its additions and improvements, Pro Tools 7.2 software is still one of the easiest audio applications to use. Menus have been streamlined and organized more logically, though key commands remain the same. A new Tool Tips feature provides descriptions of objects within the interface when the cursor is placed over them so you can get better acquainted with the interface.
Unique Hardware Options
Pro Tools 7.2 software supports a full array of hardware interfaces and peripherals, so you can use the hardware option that best suits your needs. Pro Tools HD 7.2 software works with Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Accel systems; Pro Tols LE 7.2 software supports Mbox, Mbox 2, Digi 002, and Digi 002 Rack systems.

Ultimate Mixing and Automation
From new VCA-style groups to pan grouping and plug-in parameter linking, Pro Tools HD 7.2 software is loaded with indispensable new features dedicated to improving your mixing workflow. New automation modes combine advanced features previously found only on high-end consoles with the power of Pro Tools, to deliver the most comprehensive and flexible automation system in the industry. And with additional new functionality designed to enhance operation with ICON worksurfaces-including VCA fader spill, two-knob surround panning, new jog wheel scrolling/zooming, and much more-Pro Tools HD 7.2 software provides music and post professionals with the best mixing tools on the market.
Fully Integrated Digital Video
Pro Tools HD 7.2 software allows you to work with integrated video with the same renowned simplicity and elegance that has made Pro Tools the industry-standard digital audio workstation. Cut video along with audio using standard editing commands, create multiple video tracks and playlists within a single session, and bounce edited QuickTime or Avid video with audio as a QuickTime movie for fast review and approval. Pro Tools|HD 7.2 software also provides frame edge-aligned playback of all common QuickTime resolutions-including H.264-through Avid Mojo or AVoption|V10.
Unique Multi-channel Field Recorder Workflow
Most location sound today is captured on multi-channel disk-based field recorders, so replacing guide track audio with alternate source material in post has become commonplace. It is often time consuming and tedious. With enhanced metadata features including iXML support and new multi-channel matching functionality, Pro Tools HD 7.2 software dramatically simplifies this process for dialog editors. Switching to alternate channels becomes as simple as right-clicking on an audio region or selection: pick a channel by name and Pro Tools instantly creates a new region and rebuilds the crossfades.
New "Dubber/Stem Recorder" Functionality
Pro Tools HD 7.2 software transforms your Pro Tools|HD rig into a full-fledged, standalone dubber. The new DestructivePunch record mode allows for seamless punching into a contiguous "flat" file for each recorded track so you won't have to consolidate file fragments at the end of a session. With support for third-party paddle controllers, Pro Tools can easily replace aging standalone hardware dubber/stem recorders while giving you the benefit of a single, adaptable software environment.
Flexible Metering Plug-ins Included
Pro Tools HD 7.2 software now includes the new SignalTools suite of multi-channel metering and analysis tools, available in TDM and RTAS formats as part of the free DigiRack collection of Pro Tools plug-ins. SignalTools features a completely redesigned SurroundScope level metering tool, which boasts a simplified user interface, precision metering in a variety of international standards, plus Leq(A) measurement. You also get PhaseScope, an invaluable tool for visualizing phase relationships in stereo tracks or between any two streams in multi-channel audio.
Additional Performance Enhancements
Pro Tools HD 7.2 software introduces a new suite of menus and commands that are available through right-click mouse operation. Many edit commands and functions such as renaming paths without opening the I/O Setup are presented when objects are right-clicked in the User Interface. Fades can now be treated like audio regions and nudged or slipped independently from their parent region. This makes it possible to get the fade in the perfect place without trimming; crossfades can be split into fade-ins and fade-outs with a single command.
