Brings the ’80s Rack Into Your Sessions
Drawing inspiration from a long-revered ’80s-era rackmount processor, the PSP Audioware BBDelay brings analog-style ambience effects to your in-the-box productions. This plugin models the original hardware’s individual BBD chips and compander behavior with picture-perfect precision, faithfully re-creating the warm repeats, organic movement, and musical imperfections that epitomize vintage analog circuitry. Moreover, the BBDelay features three Dirt modes, each with progressively more ear-grabbing character, while the Compander Adjustment knob unleashes crystal-clear echoes, gritty coloration, and all points in between. You also get four Effect-Mode settings, reinforced by up to 1,600ms of delay, with both analog-style Speed control and modern Delay Time and Tap Tempo capabilities. Additionally, the BBDelay features four Modulation-Type waveforms with Rate and Depth controls, as well as a comprehensive suite of sound-shaping sections. Rounding out the BBDelay is a feature-laden Preset Browser with Favorites, A/B comparison, Undo/Redo, and user default presets, all running on cutting-edge 64-bit internal processing with zero added latency on your dry signal. From vintage echoes to modern experimental soundscapes, BBDelay delivers the depth, motion, and instability of classic analog delay and ambience processors directly into your DAW.

BBD-flavored delays with analog character
A faithful emulation of the rackmount BBD-driven ambience processor many of Sweetwater’s more seasoned engineers wielded back in the early 1980s, the BBDelay features four Effect-Mode settings — Echo, Dual, Ping, and Reverb — putting an inspiring range of analog-flavored reverberant effects at the ready. This feature-packed plugin provides up to 800ms of delay (1,600ms in x2 mode), bolstered by analog-style Speed control with modern Delay Time and Tap Tempo modes. The Compander Adjustment knob yields everything from clean repeats to lush vintage coloration, while three Dirt modes unleash ear-grabbing grit, each with progressively richer character. Finally, you get four Modulation-Type options — Sine, Triangle, Square, and Random — with Rate, Depth, and Phase parameters.
Total control over your repeats
The PSP Audioware BBDelay includes a bevy of creative sound-sculpting sections. The Filters section provides you with highpass, lowpass, and resonant tone shaping inside the feedback path, while the Transients section allows you to shape the attack of each repeat. The Ducker section automatically controls the levels of your repeats to ensure cleaner delays, and the Gate section gives you access to a wide range of rhythmic and creative effects. Lastly, the Saturator section puts analog-style grit in your hands, enhanced by multiple response curves.
