What is the Voodoo Lab PPBATR cable used for?

This cable allows you to power effects pedals that typically run on a 9V battery using a standard 2.1mm pedal power supply output. It's perfect for pedals without a dedicated power input jack, or for when you want to integrate a battery-only pedal into your powered pedalboard setup, ensuring consistent power.

How do I connect my pedal using this cable?

Simply snap the battery clip end of the Voodoo Lab PPBATR cable onto the 9V battery terminals inside your pedal's battery compartment. Then, plug the right-angle 2.1mm barrel connector into an available 9V output on your pedalboard power supply. This provides a reliable power source without needing to constantly replace batteries.

What types of power supplies are compatible with this cable?

The Voodoo Lab PPBATR cable is designed to connect to any standard pedalboard power supply output that provides 9V DC power and has a 2.1mm barrel jack. This includes most common isolated power supplies from Voodoo Lab, MXR, Strymon, and many others, ensuring broad compatibility for your setup.

Why would I use a battery converter cable instead of just a 9V battery?

Using the Voodoo Lab PPBATR cable lets you power your battery-only pedals directly from your pedalboard power supply, eliminating the need for disposable batteries. This saves money, reduces waste, and ensures consistent power for your effects, preventing unexpected power loss during a performance or session.

What's the advantage of the right-angle connector?

The right-angle 2.1mm connector on the Voodoo Lab PPBATR cable helps keep your pedalboard tidy and organized. It allows for a lower profile connection, reducing strain on the power jack and making it easier to fit pedals closely together. This is especially useful in tight spaces or for a clean cable management setup.
