Fantastic bass

I had ordered one of these before but the screws in the pickgard were jacked and the frets were poorly dressed. But this one is magnificent. Matt at Sweetwater has always been the best. I have American Fender P basses and this one is far superior in fit and finish than any I have had. It was setup very well. Usually I still have to tweak them but this was excellent out of the box.I installed the Harris signature strings and had to tighten the neck up about a quarter turn because of the tension. The sound is excellent Absolutely the finest P bass I have ever owned. The bridge really adds a swell in the tone.Always worth buying at Sweetwater because the service is incredible!

A Trooper Of A Bass

I've owned upwards of a dozen Precision Basses over the past 35 years, and this one ranks among the very best. The fit, finish and build quality are excellent, the tone is superb and the playability is outstanding. With the tone control wide open it nails the Harris tone, and rolled back, it delivers outstanding Classic Rock, Motown and Blues tones. It is a heavy beast, but the dense maple body contributes to the meaty tone & great sustain. The neck is beefy yet comfortable, and the paint is flawlessly executed. The rock-solid Fender High Mass bridge offers low action, great sustain and easy adjustability. I highly recommend this bass, not only for Steve Harris fans, but for anybody seeking a versatile & well made Precision Bass.

Better than my American Standard P-Bass

Unbelievably crafted and it is built like a tank (over 13 lbs). The sound from the Steve Harris signature pick ups is crisp and clean. The paint job was well done. There is one reason why it is better than my American Standard P Bass and that's because Steve Harris was involved. I am also very impressed with the fender high mass bridge. Very comparable to a Leo Quan bridge. The body is solid and heavy, the neck solid, straight and heavy which makes the sustain go on forever. I was lucky enough to get one of these when they first came out. Now they are on backorder. I hope Fender does not cut any corners trying to keep up with the back orders. I have been playing bass for over 30 years. I am a big Steve Harris fan and I own all 3 of his signature basses. #rd time is a charm! This new West Ham bass blows away Harris' 2009 Lake Placid blue sparkle version. I thought the 2009 was a good bass for the price and this bass is $300 less! If your a Maiden fan this is a no brainier. If your just a P Bass lover this has to be in your repitiore. Good job Steve Harris and Fender!
