Sub-octave Effects for Guitar, Bass, and Synths

The Behringer Octave Divider effects pedal is an authentic re-creation of the classic Octave Divider effect from the ’70s. Use it to add a thunderous sub-octave growl to your guitar, bass, or synthesizers, or engage the Ringer function to emphasize upper harmonics. Kick on the Bass Only switch to cut out your dry signal entirely. And for creative routing flexibility, an auxiliary output allows you to send your dry signal to another amp or effects pedal, separate from the octave-divided output. Whether you’re looking for vintage octave effects or full-blown resynthesis for your guitar, bass, or keyboards, Sweetwater recommends checking out the Behringer Octave Divider pedal.

Behringer Octave Divider Features:

  • Octave divider effects pedal for guitar, bass, and synthesizers
  • Generates a sub-octave effect that can be blended with your dry signal
  • Bass Only switch cuts your dry signal completely
  • Auxiliary output gives you the option to route your dry signal to a different amp than the octave-divided signal
  • Ringer function emphasizes upper harmonics
  • Stabilize switch improves note tracking with monophonic signal sources
  • Rugged metal construction
  • Power supply included

Surprisingly true to the original and I own one
There are two things that you need to know about this pedal:
1) you have to put it at the front of the chain, the absolute front if you play guitar.
2) the artifacts that you are getting now are at the front of the chain are very true to the original.

If you don't want artifacts this is not the pedal for you, that was the charm of the original. If you don't have the placement of the pedal proper in the chain the artifacts will be out of control and over bearing.

I've had an original since I was a kid, its always been a bada$$ pedal. This tribute to the original is amazingly close. I was so pleased once I got playing it but I was also blown away that something so reasonably priced was so very close. Much like the 808 v2 drum machine Behringer put out it does it justice.

A nice octave divider
I was excited to see Behringer reproducing the old Musitronics pedals. I have the Dual Phase and just got the BTronIII, now I have this octave divider.

It's very clean sounding, low noise. I might need to play with the "Ringer" settings.. not hearing much there. But as far as the octave it tracks very well (one note at a time please, lol).

Another stellar budget pedal from Behringer
This pedal has plenty of features to offer a decent variety of sounds. It has one of my favorite options on any pedal, which is the ability to split the clean and effects channels into separate outputs so they can be further processed separately or sent to different amps. In fact, this pedal doubles as a splitter.

This is a high quality, budget friendly pedal, I'm having a lot of fun with it. I will keep checking out what Behringer has to offer, my limited gear budget goes a lot further with them. Thank you!

Idea generator
This is a unique pedal instrument that supplies weird and wacky right out of the gate but somehow manages to always deliver it with a musical voice. It takes you in new directions you didn't even know you wanted to go. I am not familiar with the vintage pedal that inspired this clone, but I suspect that this product is faithful to the original given how musical it is.
I dig big pedals, and this one is reassuringly well built with stylish good looks. It even comes with a TC Electronic power supply and quality packaging, all at a very reasonable price. What's not to like?
