Heavyweight Power from a Featherweight Amp

Tired of running out of PA power at gigs? Want more headroom and thump? The Behringer iNUKE NU1000 offers dual 500W power amps at a 2 ohm load — how is that for power? Weighing in at less than 7 pounds, the NU1000 runs cool thanks to the revolutionary Class-D technology with "near-zero" thermal buildup. You can easily integrate this power amp into your rig thanks to the universal XLR / 1/4" combo jacks and speakON outputs.

The latest in power amp technology

Power amp technology is constantly evolving, and the Behringer iNuke NU1000 power amp takes advantage of the latest advancements. Thanks to the revolutionary Class-D technology with "near-zero" thermal buildup, the lightweight iNuke NU1000 runs cool without the need for massive heat sinks or toroid transformers. A built-in limiter offers overload protection to extend the life of your precious speakers and subs — a feature which Sweetwater knows is important to our weekend warriors.

3-way crossover cleans up systems with mains & subs

On the back of the iNuke NU1000 power amp you'll find a 3-way crossover switch. In center position is Full Range mode, which sends the full power of your amp, unfiltered, to your loudspeakers. This is what you'll want if you're dedicating your amp only to your full-range mains and monitors. But if you're running a mixed system with both mains and subs, the two other positions create a powerful and well-defined sound fast without additional processors. LF mode on the left sends only low-frequency content below 100 Hz to your subs; HF mode on the right sends only content above 100Hz to your full-range loudspeakers.

Behringer iNUKE NU1000 Features:

  • 1,000W total — 2 x 500W @ 2 ohms, 1000 Watts into 4 ohms bridged
  • Built-in 3-way crossover makes it easy to combine main speakers with subwoofers
  • Built-in limiters provide reliable overload protection to protect your speakers
  • Ultra-efficient switch-mode power supply
  • Thermally efficient Class-D technology
  • 3-year manufacturer warranty

Too much power to power compression drivers

I have always tri-amped my system which consists of two Peavey SP2 top cabinets which contains a 15 inch black widow speaker and an RX22 1 inch compression driver with an asymmetrical horn. My subs consist of two Peavey SP 218's--dual 18 inch (black widows) @ 600 watts continuous, 1200 watts program and 2400 watts peak for each cabinet. I have 3 of the Inuke amp's--NU1000 for the high end, the NU3000 for the mids and the NU6000 for the subs. The NU1000 is actually way more power than is needed. I have to have the volume controls turned way down or it over powers the mids. Once I got everything balanced between the highs, mids and low end, I was astounded at the quality of the sound and the amount of headroom. I was only lighting up the bottom light of each amp--barely anything from the NU1000, but I had clear flashing bottom lights on the NU3000 and NU6000. The second lights up did not come on and the volume was deafening. I gave one of my systems to my son which has the same speaker set up but I used the EP4000--enough for thunderous bass and the EPX3000's. for mids and high. I used these amps for a lot of dances and outdoor sound system services at community festivals. These amps still work and they were enough. I am pleased with the very light weights of the 3 NU amps, their clarity and richness of sound and their power. I think the opinions of those claiming the Behringer NU amps is overrated do not have the practical experience I have on the road. These amps are very powerful and will serve my needs for clarity and headroom.

Great product

Super affordable, light weight, powerfull power amp. Powers my guitar cab with no extra noise, I can even run two cabs (2x12's) at gig volume without breaking a sweat. I will note that you need twist locking speaker cable to 1/4" jack if you want to run a guitar cab.

Great little amp!

This is quiet and works just like it should. I am using it to power some guitar cabs and it works great for that. I have not wired this up to a PA to see how she does while being pushed hard.
