Pure Sound for Your Headphones

With more and more music consumed via headphones and earbuds, you need a headphone amp that can keep up. Enter the Little Labs Monotor. This handy 2-channel headphone amplifier has garnered many fans here at Sweetwater due to its low-noise circuit design. Its signal path is almost completely passive and minimalistic, with the exception of a single active stage on each channel. The simplified design and high-quality voltage regulation guarantee the Monotor accurately reproduces any audio signal you throw at it. You get two 1/4-inch headphone jacks and a pair of separately amplified 3.5mm headphone jacks, so you never have to find a missing headphone adapter. Adjusting the volume is easy, too, thanks to the stepped volume knob. Finally, this headphone amp includes left-plus-right, left, right, and left-minus-right settings for checking phase and analyzing artifacts. Order yours now and hear every bit of audio through your headphones.

Low-noise, high-headroom circuitry

Put simply, the Monotor’s circuit topology is a stroke of genius. This headphone amplifier uses a minimalistic circuit design to prevent extraneous noise from entering the signal. The circuit uses a single active stage per headphone output. Otherwise, the circuit is entirely passive and clean, thanks to low-noise linear voltage regulation. The Monotor gives you a dramatically improved dynamic range without the hiss supplied by other headphone amplifiers. Choose a Monotor headphone amplifier and enjoy a more accurate sonic presentation of your source material.

No more annoying adapters

There are few things more annoying than needing a headphone adapter and not having one. That’s why the folks at Little Labs outfitted the Monotor with two pairs of headphone outputs. You get two traditional 1/4-inch TRS headphone jacks and two 3.5mm headphone jacks — all mounted to the front panel. The 1/4-inch and 3.5mm jacks are separately amplified for a cleaner signal. You can use any combination of headphones with the Monotor. And the best thing? You’ll never have to go digging for a headphone adapter ever again.

BEST AMP EVER
Amazing amplifier! Fast and excellent delivery. Arrived just in time. I am very happy.

Detail I can't hear without it.
If crystal clarity and critical honesty is important this is the headphone amp you gotta hear. Its just the truth without hype, distortion or color. Sometimes I try to use a high quality headphone out from another device to "save time" and immediately notice it's not my Monotor. Yes I've tried X and Y in the same price range and have friends with a variety of headphone amps. But once they hear this they all agree - this is the most natural and clear. I use it for live sound, live IEM's with bass guitar and keyboards. And I'll add - any time I can get the monitor engineer to let me use this vs. wireless its a big plus.
Music background: Pro Audio, bass player, keyboards.
Astounding Clarity
I first used this headphone amp with my Sennheiser HD 600, playing a Nord Stage 3 keyboard with acoustic piano samples. The balance and clarity was so precise that I could hear the left-right position of the strings shift as I played up and down the scale, to a "resolution" of about a major third (strings separated about 4 inches) - more precise than ever.

When I switch the sample from the upright piano to grand, the 3D depth of field of the sound from the longitudinal strings leading away from the player also jumped out immediately. Can't wait to hear other musical and musical sounds with this setup.

Beautiful sound
Ok look, there are many pieces of gear that may have a larger impact on your workflow and creativity. That being said, though, this little box is awesome. The step up in audio quality - even from a great piece of gear like a UAD dac - is noticeable. Incredible audio transparency and remarkable high end. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I wish there was more room between the front output jacks and the volume control. The ergonomics of adjusing the volume on the unit aren't great. Really my only quibble. This is a great piece of gear.
Can you handle the truth?
This is a serious piece of equipment that totally allows you to listen to your music and not your equipment. The Monotor has power galore, powering my 250ohm cups with 'the greatest of ease!' The Monotor is the truth.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?
Stuart Niven
I've used Little Labs' gear in my studio for years, and I'm equally impressed by their Monotor headphone amp as I've been with their VOG and PCP. The Monotor drives my high-end headphones with greater fidelity, low-end depth, and high-end clarity than ever. I can really hear what my mixes sound like! And it's not just great for mixing - this amp delivers the kind of audiophile-grade, reference-quality sound that makes listening to music in general even more satisfying.
